chadster
This weeks adventure comes via Castle Park, a park that Bud Hurlbut built in 1976. Some of the same touches and even attractions that you might have found at Knotts can be found at Castle Park. For instance the Tilt-A-Whirl and Taxi Cabs both originated at Knotts and some of the rides area bears similar architecture. The golf course looks amazing and carries tremendous themeing and was something I didn't have time to experience on my visit, likewise with the arcade.  Unfortunately under Palace management the park appears to be suffering from a few maintenance issues. The park itself was clean but it just seems to be missing the details that you can tell once existed.  Nevertheless I do plan to return to the park as I still need the Demon credit and I want to try out the golf course. And guess what, you can visit too as I'm giving away 2 FREE ride wristbands! All you have to do is donate to my Coasting For Kids page to receive your chance to win!  Here are the details:  $5 - 1 entry $20 - 5 entries Contest entry ends Monday May 7, 2012 at Noon CST Winner chosen via random drawing and will be announced during the May 7th edition of Chadster's Vacation Adventures  Easy right? Not only do you help a great cause, but you could get $50 (at current retail price) worth of tickets!  Now on to the photos, but before we do, a HUGE shout out to Ice Bat for being the first to correctly answer the question posed for last weeks edition, Does Bubba Gumps serve fresh fish? That would be a huge no. Welcome to Castle Park, where the gate attendants sweep when bored. First up, Screamin' Demon. Errrrm, or maybe not... I'm guessing those cables might be needed for something... True Story - I've attempted to gain this credit in Jan, Feb, and March of 2012 to no avail. So since that's not working, lets fly on over to a different coaster Hi Disneyland! I thought this was an awesome shot, see, it is possible to put lipstick on a pig. So ChrisRad, Fatdaddy, and myself all assumed the position. As you can tell Caesar likes his roller skaters. And we rode, as you can tell, the wizard has seen better days. Everyone likes a good pus every now and again, well, most everyone. The falling star would do no falling on this day. Here you can see some of the touches Bud added to the park Same over here by the scrambled eggs. As well as here. I would have walked right past this replica of the liberty bell that Bud commissioned, one of two made, had it not been for Caesar. The other is at the Hall at Knotts. They also have a rare 1905 Dentzel Carousel, all hand carved. Horseys! I couldn't fit it all in Licensed from Disney I'm sure. This tilt came to the park via Knotts. And of course we can't forget about the parks train. Caesar says the old carny running the ride has been at the park forever. Also from Knotts are the Taxis Fire fire fire fire Can anyone tell what's strange about the Sea Dragon? Hey look, the YoYo has themeing! "How the hell DOES this thing work?" A normally strong running ride, their S&S has some major issues, so much so they only load two sides, the sides with the fewest seats despite a rather long line. BIG SQUIRT! Even though their flume is more or less a standard model, they did a nice job incorporating it into the parks theme So back to the Sea Dragon....the sign is on the wrong side! and here we come to the last ride of the night. In fact, it's Chris' number 1 coaster of all time Caesar on the other hand, doesn't rank it very high...  So that's it, hope you enjoyed a quick look at Castle Park, be sure to post your comments and don't forget to enter the ticket giveaway contest!!  Next week: Credit Whore Park, also known as All Star Adventures in Wichita Kansas! X2coasterfreak
Haha, their drop tower is very... interesting. I remember when I was there back in December, they said they could only load two sides because it was "faulty". Also Screamin' Demon was closed at that time as well. ^And yes, this park makes you feel like a total whore
Chrisrad
I enjoyed this report! Â Â More like, "Is everything tight/secure up there?" Based on the drop tower's maintenance, I don't know if the swings fare much better. Â Â You forgot about the 'incident' at the kiddie coaster.. thankfully Caesar saved the day. Chrisrad
^ That's why I love CA. Â Lost my seat on Astro Orbiter at Disneyland last night because a family lied about the number of rockets needed.

I hear tickets are up for grabs - take pity and toss $10 to sponsor Chad's Give Kids the World entry. You'll have to get by me and my $20 donation. chadster
Today's adventure brings me to All Star Adventures in Wichita, KS. So what is in Wichita you ask? As the states largest city(is that even saying much) they are dubbed the Air Capital of the World with companies such as Learjet, Spirit, and Boeing leading the air industry there. Outside of that the city is made up mostly of museums, theater's and the world's second largest IMAX. Â The town was also home to Joyland which closed in 2007. More on that in a separate thread later this week. That leaves All Star as the town's only form of amusement entertainment and I must say I was surprised, but not overly so. The mini golf course was amazing and they had an ok collected of amusements, arcade games, and some of the slowest go-karts around. Trust me, they looked faster that what they were. Â And Congratulations to PAL for winning 2 Castle Park tickets from last week! Â Anyway, enjoy your look at this two credit, credit whore park! Aiight, here we go, lets get it over with. $3 a ride, $7 for go-carts, or wristband for like $26ish I'm tee'd off. Seriously, the golf course rivals Castle Parks in some respects. Blah blah blah blah noted. So let's start out at the not so go go carts. Vroom, or maybe just vro legal legal blah blah, don't die, blah blah, don't be stupid, blah blah blah noted. yeah, well, these go carts had no vroom, #wouldnotpaytorideagain The more small parks I visit, the more of these I find. Very happy for that um, no. #notarealhimalaya The towels are used to clean up after the horses. No sh!t. Spidey Pig Spidey Pig does whatever Spidey pig does Pull the shoot, pull the shoot! Decent tilt was fill of spin. See, full of spin. With every season, turn, turn, turn, there is a reason, I come, to, this, park. And here is that reason! For those that like tail. weeee, we we we weeeeeeeee This ariel foto brought to you for by me. all coasters should have lift hills like this. batter batter batter...oh.wait. ah hell, who cares, they have this too. Whoo hoo! That's a mean looking tiger! And a giant slide! Â So yeah, that's the park, sadly they have even more than my town of almost 1 million people! Some famous theatre downtown This is old town, pretty kickin place, just not on Sundays I give the River City Brewey 3.5 of 5 stars, good hand crafted in house beer, food selection and food was also good. Â So there you have it, hope you enjoyed this weeks adventure! Next week, San Diego Zoo!

chadster
Greetings and welcome to this weeks adventure that takes ChrisRad and I to the San Diego Zoo on a wet and rainy April Saturday. I have to say that this place is amazing and totally lived up to all the hype and expectations. A bit of construction going on in the zoo kept us from seeing a few attractions, but honestly after a full day in the zoo we still didn't get to see everything, it was HUGE! (That's what she said) Â I highly recommend that everyone pay the extra money(or talk the ticket seller in to giving you) for the bus tour and sky ride, 100% worth the money. Â So enough blah blah blah, let's get to it! Dude's got a bad case of the mange, either that or rug burns. I'm guessing rug burns as she needs to wipe off. Ever heard the term crapweasel? This is one. Your classic camel toe. So what does an elephant have in common with a garbage truck? Well for starters they are both about the same size and both have large hoses. Both also have forks on the front. Both can open their rear doors... ...that allows them to dump. Checking out the dating scene. We then caught these two sneaking off... For a little foreplay The polar bear got denied and had to go for a cool swim. So this is where Rudolph goes in the off season More proof that all the animals do here is get it on. Direct decedents of the tin man. Construction!!!!! These two were just coming out of their cave, not sure what they were up too, of course, they weren't in there more than a few minutes This dude was chill not my idea of a pet Worn plum out. WTF? It's crapping berries! HOT Here we have your classic dingle berry No matter how hard you try, you just can't shake it loose. ummm, yeah, WTH is it? A zebra, a donkey, maybe it's a Zonkey? Schlitterbahn for monkeys! mmm, man that smells good. Is that broccoli? Cause that smells good. Panda's got backfat All I wanted was what was mine! - OJ Simpson. ACE even had an exhibit. Moo. TPR I never knew roos could stand on their tails...sadly i have no evidence of it. Katie and her boyfriend. in all seriousness, the zoo is full of win and landscape beauty. "I want to drink your blood!" This is foreplay for a monkey. They start by touching each others biceps and forearms. Then they kiss the hand Which leads to frenching "You can't see me" Kinky Flamingo sex They really know how to spice things up Look, more construction! NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Â Â Well, that's all folks! Hope you enjoyed and be sure to POST YOUR COMMENTS! Â Join me next week for Cock Days in my home state! Edited May 15, 2012 by chadster

Chrisrad
Even though I saw all of this in person, it's better through pictures. Â The elephant/trash truck comparison was awesome. Then the dingle-berry topped that.. and it just kept getting better. Â This must happen again. I don't know how it would get any better, but..
