You know, now that the lift is done (I don't believe anybody has brought this up yet), I hope this doesn't turn into the Tacoma Narrows Bridge of roller coasters. The single beam for support all the way up the lift looks like it will catch the wind a lot. We shall wait and see I guess. :)

A donkey is a domesticated member of the Equidae or horse family.

Germany for example :p

Anyway, I think it looks great and hope I'll be able to make it to Hersheypark in the near future.

You know that's quite a statement when the home country of some of the most INSANE coasters on Earth has people asking for SkyRush...
(And that's coming from a devout Schwarzkopf Believer...)

Man...I´m so guilty of being jealous in a totally stupid way. You are sooo right, Dude. Sorry for that... ;)

^^The cool part about modern-day engineering is that we know to and can analyze that stuff. We learn from our mistakes, and we tend not to make them again - especially in a field where anywhere from a handful to thousands of lives are at stake.
1. Skyrush | 2. Maverick | 3. The Voyage | 4. El Toro | 5. Outlaw Run
6. Millennium Force | 7. I-305 | 8. Medusa: SC | 9. X2 | 10. Phoenix

Also, Gallopin' Gertie got so... well, gallopin', because the road portion of the bridge was solid. The wind had no way to pass through and had no choice but to push against the bridge, which weakened the structure to the point where it collapsed (and killed a dog). As is quite evident in the pictures, Skyrush's lift has plenty of gaps for wind to pass through without harm. Image

On that last Skyrush photo from the park, I think I found myself in that photo. I pretty much sat on the guardrail while they were lifting it into place in front of the first drop the whole time.

I think even with the trees in full-bloom you'll still see Skyrush from Tudor Square (i.e. in front of the Chocolate House). As i was walking down to get those photos from down there, I was competely awe-struck at how tall it looked from there.

If you've been wondering what they've been working on since topping off the lift, here's a small update.

More creek wall was added...

The loading station roof was added...

Some decorative rock work seems to have been added to part of the station...

And finally, the brake-run track was added.

I'm getting more and more excited about this, though I probably wont get a chance to ride it until next year or even 2014 :/
But I think this will become the star attraction of Hersheypark, and will probably become one of the greatest coasters in the world.
