P. 467: Media Town Hall Report

Recommended Posts

More HOS stuff! I had the chance to check out the rest of the HOS mazes I missed over the weekend!

Bitten - 5/5

Best maze at HOS! I got some awesome scares both times I went through! Definitely the strongest of the mazes so far. There were jump scares, noise scares, and distraction scares every corner you went through and the unpredictability of the maze made it even better. It was definitely worth the wait.

Fear Fair - 2/5

The only "good" scares I got out of this maze were the noise scares. Most of the other actors just stood around both times I went through. Some of the other scares had plenty of potential (like the 3D room), but kinda fell short. Surprisingly, I got better scares walking through the maze in the daytime than at night, where it was harder to see the theming/props.

Catacombs - 5/5

Another strong maze, this was probably the shortest of all the mazes in the park. This maze utilized it's location really well since the scareactors were hard to see and blended in everywhere. This maze had a lot more noise scares than the other mazes with the occasional distraction and jump out of nowhere scares.

Deadline and 13 were still pretty good when I went through last night (although Deadline seems to have fewer actors than I remembered).

Also it looks like Stitching Time has improved as well since the actors do less standing around and more time trying to scare you.

The other scare zones were about the same.

Last note: You can get some awesome views of Verbolten right outside of Bitten. The building's wall is now a bit higher than before and you can get a general overview of what happens in part of the building. Expect track to arrive very soon!

I wonder if that video was linked to the new QR codes on the construction signs. Busch Gardens posted on their Facebook on Friday (I think) that there were new QR codes to be found this past weekend.

Scheduling is going to make it REAL hard for me to hit Holw-O-Scream this year, but I am still hoping.

^Kind of a pointless video, don't you think? They should have waited a few more weeks so we could see more.

I don't see what was pointless about the video. They did label it "Phase 1" at the beginning and showed us close-up pics of the construction site.

This is the makings of some good coaster porn . Nothing like watching a coaster go vertical and how else can they do that without prepping the site like these pics are showing?

As I reported on the forums at BGWfans.com, there is a large crane peeking above the trees in the general area of Verbolten. You can see the crane from both rt. 143 and rt. 60, (and most likely from 64). I have a good feeling that the track is in fact on site, and there is a good chance of seeing a little more than dirt, concrete, and rebar this weekend.

Public drop track pictures: Link

There are also a few more ride drawings posted to the forums that we'd like to remain forum exclusives. They can be found here. Signing up takes maybe a minute or two and we don't send emails (aside from the initial confirmation email). If you chose not to sign up, that's fine- major content is almost always posted publicly on the main site.

It certainly looks impressive, its nice to see some drop track in the daylight, as Altons was hidden and never seen outside, the only thing I would say is that it looks over engineered to the max!!!

I hope it is well covered over, as the beauty of Th13teens drop track is from a ride perspective, you cannot see any supports or structure at all, whereas on this, you will see everything apart from the mechanics underneath!

Verbolten looks incredible so far, very excited for this one!
