This should be interesting, that section of the park is badly in need of renovation. It has a lot of potential thought, especially if they are going to completely tear down the existing penguin habitat and start from scratch. I sounds like they might have stolen my plans for that area of the park......

Is Southwest still sponsoring the penquin exhibit? I thought it would be cool to stick an old plane with hole in the roof in the exhibit for them to play in, as we know, Southwest has a few of those lying around they could use...

Hey everyone, first ever post on TPR, long time lurker so, now feel finally a part of the community! [Please be kind, i'll get used to the format soon enough!]

I'm really looking forward to these developments, the penguin plaza although pleasant has a lot of dead space, rarely do I ever see a crowd in the 'Antarctic Market' restaurant and the games area whole idea feels a bit out of keeping on the rest of the park, I think a dark ride will be great for the park, something it needs to keep up with increased competition with Universal & Disney's new investments. I for one can't wait as it's my "Home park"! (From the UK but, it's my favourite American park)

Am sad to see the Manatee Rescue go, I have heard no plans for relocation from reports etc (I presume the entire exhibit will be lost?), will miss those gentle blobs dearly, do agree that the 360* cinema was a wasted area though. Will be good to also have something new in there. Can't wait till it's all done, will be keeping an close eye on it, think it could be a pretty exciting time for the park! :b

The Orlando spending surge is an effort by Orlando-based SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment — and its owner, private-equity giant the Blackstone Group — to revive the biggest and most important of its 10 U.S. theme parks. SeaWorld Orlando alone is responsible for roughly one-third of the company's total earnings... But SeaWorld Orlando has also struggled during the past 18 months... More challenges are looming, with Merlin Entertainments Group preparing to open a Legoland theme park in Winter Haven later this month

Blackstone is facing competition from Blackstone who was previously facing competition from Blackstone.

It looks like the economy is looking up though, with all of these companies ready to reinvest capital!

and Walt Disney World in the midst of expanding two of its four parks — including Disney's Animal Kingdom, which, like SeaWorld, is themed around wildlife and conservation.

I know it's a little off topic, but...

This quote really jumped out at me. Does this mean that there could be a potential major expansion for AK in the works (Pandora/Beastly Kindgom)? I don't remember hearing discussion about that outside of the deal Disney had with the Avatar franchise.

Unless they're referring to the Fantasyland expansion and the MagiClone, but those are going into MK.

Seaworld has no open / closed seasons... It is open year round, if that's what you were inferring.

That is what he was implying. He was making a point to narrow down the list of parks that this Sally ride could be going to. I think you might have misunderstood what he was going for.
