In december, I spent a month in India together with my girlfriend. Ofcourse, we also visited some fairs and parks. Nicco Park in Kolkata was the first one.

You can pay for the rides seperately or buy a wristband. We bought a wristband for the themepark only (there is also a water park) and payed 310 RPS. Really a bargain!

The park is ok themed and clean. Some rides surely weren't safe by European standards but hey, we we're in India so we did try them all.

Adults seem to have the most fun in kiddy rides. Maybe they were TPR members .

My first Indian rollercoaster: a Wacky Worm called Moon Raker. I managed to squeeze myself in, restraints weren't there.

Check this out: go stand in front of the horse and it will hop for you. Awesome!

Then we arrived at the main coaster of the park: The Cyclone. A very nice and even smooth ride which even seemed to revieve an award for being the best ride of 2006-7! It even entered my wooden coaster top-10 as the first wooden coaster outside of Europe. Unfortunately, it was a little difficult to take pictures of.

Evening fell over the park and we arrived at the watercoaster called The Water Chute. We didn't ride it, because you'll get SOAKED! It also rode 2 rounds.

We also found this ride in Esselworld, Mumbai.

The day came to an end and it was time to leave. Unfortunately, the 2 dark rides were closed. We spent almost 3 hours in the park. Esspecially for the Cyclone, it's worth a visit should you be around.

Very nice. I wonder how many TPR members have been to that park. Thanks for sharing.

Three members for sure that i know of. It would have been four of us had the India visa authorities sorted out my visa on time

Still hoping to go to this park in the near future if my visa comes through.

Thanks for posting the photos. The park looks better then i expected.

Did you manage to go to Science City which is down the road from Nicco park?

Wow. Talk a bout a park that's off the radar for a lot of folks on TPR, I'm sure. I went over to rcdb and found out that the wooden coaster is a copy of the Cyclone at Pleasureland Southport in England. It looks really cool with it's non-traditional paint job. There are a ton of good photos over at the RCDB of this coaster. It looks great.

Thanks for sharing and YES, post the pictures from Esselworld!

Peace,

KC
