Swede
Hello TPR. I just got back after a great birthday party in Copenhagen, Denmark. I'll start you off with some photos from today and add some more text here later tonight as I'm absolutely beat, but I would like to thank everyone at Tivoli for making this special day happen and also Robb for forwarding the information from the park right away. This is the first thing you see in Copenhagen when exiting the central train station. Entrance. Happy birthday Rutschebanen! 100 years old to the day today. The very first Rutschebanen was these two hills/slopes. Apparently the restraint was a blanket to put over your legs when riding down in it. The workshop where they tinker with the cars. This is the engine that pulls the 7 ton cars up the hill. So small but does the job great. Specs. of the engine for you motorheads. It was built in 1935. Every year they refurbish a part of the track. That helps it hold up and actually provide a rather smooth ride for a hundred year-old roller coaster. The first drop as seen from up in the mountains. Jacob was our guide for the day and if he doesn't know something about this ride it's not worth knowing. Just ask him about the German terror-group that planted bombs on it during World War 2. The cables that pull you up. Up in the Alps of Copenhagen. I wasn't the only one taking photos this day. Scary tunnel. I managed to sneak a look under the rails as well. If your name is here you went to fast and derailed the train. The station looks lovely. How many brakemen can you fit in a car? 8 if two are on the brakes and 6 squeeze together in two seats. cfc
The ride looks great--much better than it did when I was there with TPR in 2009. It's always good to see a park that takes pride in its classic attractions.

It really is and I hope the coming generations will get to go on this ride in another 100 years.
Swede
Here are some more photos from the park and other attractions. When you are outside you think that the park can't be very big but once you get in you are surprised of how much they fit in there. Plane on a stick. I met up with another TPR member today and as soon as the turbo-button lit up he pushed it. The others in the plane were not amused. The Demon, pagoda and gondolas. I think this is a hotel. It is really nice and you have a switch so you can listen in both Danish and English. Excellent. A new ride for 2015. Start your speculating engines. What's this? The parks H.C. Andersen themed dark-ride. I know some of you like maps. A 4D-ride-booth-thingy. I didn't try it. You can go on a tram if you like. This swingamajig was as insane as it looks. The theming of it is just greats and fits well. The Odin Express. This is not credit-whoring. This is. And you go like 10 laps on it. A boatride-shooter. I lost like 40 to 1250 or something. My gun must have been broken. Ferris-wheel. B&M twistyness. More maps. It was a little rough but not bad and for it's size it is a great ride. Swede
Oh, one last thing. This funhouse would never be allowed in the United States. It would be a lawsuit waiting to happen. There are lots of fun ways to get hurt in here. Enter at your own risk.
tooooobbe
How is it possible that I were there 3 weeks ago when the park was pretty empty and I completely missed that they have a fun house. Some great pictures tho! Thanks for sharing
