Ledgy
HI together! Today was the last day of North-Rhine-Westphalia´s largest Fun Fair in Düsseldorf the "Rheinkirmes"! It´s not that big than the bavarian Oktoberfest, but still one of the best Fun Fairs in Germany and compared to the Oktoberfest, the most important difference are the large beer tents which are missing there. There are just a few of it, but that doesn´t matter, because next connected by two bridges and a ferry connection you can reach the the old town of Düsseldorf with "The longest bar of the World" and our tasty dark beer ("Altbier"). The attractions are similar; there are 4 coasters - the only one which is sadly missing this year was the best of them - Olympia Looping. The coasters over there were Alpina Bahn, Höllenblitz, Spinning Racer, Wild Mouse. Alpina Bahn was the most surprising thing for me, because they spent all Trains new axes and because of that it´s a really smooth, but more intense ride again and the track is totally silent like at Teststrecke or for example Shock - The Steam Machine at Rainbow Magicland, etc. I really can recommend a new ride on it! Let me show the pictures of this year in a different kind of view; I like this unsharp and colorful view at night. Let´s start... Spoiler for next weekend! Füchschen Alt Beer More Beer, traditional Schlüssel Alt Good Old Alpina Bahn... Even more amazing and intense with new axes on every train... ... and it´s silent like Teststrecke or Steam at Rainbow Magicland - worth another ride! simon8899
Well done PhotoTR! One could however argue if Alt counts as beer....
Ledgy
Thank you! ^ I'm surprised that you even try to debate about this with your "Maurerpipi" Alster and Holsten Lemonade (just kidding)
vuurvogel
Nice pictures. Did you make them with miniature feature? Looks like it. But really atmospheric, nicely done. Hope I will be able to visit next year.
alilstronger
Awesome pictures! I really wish fairs here on the east coast of the USA had fairs with a massive amount of nice rides like this!
Ledgy
^^ I made them with my phone and used some additional apps; one of them was an app to get a model effect - it's called "Tiltshift".
simon8899
I'm surprised that you even try to debate about this with your "Maurerpipi" Alster and Holsten Lemonade For decades and decades this would've been true - but since Duckstein is made here we can finally relax.... RoCo
Very cool images, and a very cool-looking fair! Every time I read one of these German fair trip reports, I'm just astounded by their coolness. Hollenblitz is a bucket-list credit I MUST get, soon.

ECZenith
Spectacular doesn't even begin to describe it. I've always been curious of the quality of the interiors of the large, portable dark rides. Does anyone have any more photos of these? Even more of the exteriors, they are so impressive, I saw in another thread, a portable suspended dark ride! Germany has some amazing portable rides, absolutely impressive.
