ToTa8000
So this is my very first TR at Särkänniemi. I was excited to ride Half-Pipe and Tornado for the first time, and they both were really great coasters, especially Tornado, which now ranks as my number 1 coaster in Finland. Anyhoo, enjoy the pictures! Here we are at Särkänniemi, Tampere, Finland! Up the tower we go! This was my first Half-Pipe coaster, and it was awesome! Scary, but awesome! Koskiseikkailu was a fun rapids ride as always, but you don't get really wet in this. You can pretty much see the whole park from Näsinneula Observation Tower. The Finnish army is occupying Särkänniemi! Run away! If you look closely to that coaster, you will see people screaming in pain. We didn't ride Motogee this time due to absurdly long lines, but I can say it's a fun coaster. TWISTY! Ludicrous Speed! GO! This ride is surprisingly gentle but random at the same time. I like it. Tukkijoki is my favorite water ride in Finland. SKLOOSH! TakeOff is the best flat ride of the park. I would say it's not as insane as Kieppi from Linnanmäki but it's also not as painful. Here's the Jet Star. I'm sorry guys, but this was rather rough coaster, and I got a bad headache from first drop. Also, I think there's a star in this coaster's name. Troika has operated since the park's opening, and is still going strong. Oh crap, what I see behind that flat ride? I learned my lesson from Jet Star and decided not to ride Trombi. I think I chose well. Tyrsky had some wierd problems this time. In middle of the trak there's a small jump which this time bursted my marbles. Pretty hard. But now it's time for the best coaster in Finland, Tornado! More Intamin twisty goodness! Wave Swinger was renamed as Ilmaveivi, which is the name of the infamous ice hockey goal scored by Mikael Granlund. I end my first TR to this picture of Tornado and this some sort of magical pipe! Hope you enjoyed!
nemesis-storm
Nice TR, Yes Tornado is a great coaster, It's definitely the best steel coaster in Finland. What has the park done to Jet Star ? Have the changed the cars on it ? Also I loved it's classic 80's theming. Shame they had to remove Korkkiruuvi, I'd prefer to ride that than a Zamperla Moto Coaster However, Moto Gee is very popular with visitors, as you say it had a long line. I'm sure Korkkiruuvi never had long lines in the years prior to it's removal
simon8899
Sometimes I think you're too much into the modern ultra-smooth B&M and Intamin coasters - and yes those are great - but I'd choose an old Wildcat or JetStar any time over an standard Arrow or Vekoma. Yes those old coasters might got a little roughed up due to their age - but thats were also the fun for me lies. The same goes for some rickety 50+ years old woodie. As long as parks don't ruin the classics with OTSR I'm quite happy to enjoy them....

And I wouldn't say Jet Star is really bad, it's just that turn after the first drop that whacks my skull.
A.J.
Those cars on Jet Star look so gaudy. Slicing the capacity down to three per car doesn't help much either...
