jslim39
So over the past week, I was lucky enough to visit my cousins and aunts and uncles and blah blah blah in San Antonio, whom I haven't seen in years. And luckily, they live 7 miles from, you guessed it, SFFT!!!!!! So naturally I planned a trip there. My cousin Jared, who works there, was quick to jump on the trip idea, since even though he works there, he doesn't ride much because he's always cooking food for people. My sister was ready as well, since I am training her to be a ride warrior like me . So on to the park: IT IS FREAKING AWESOME!!! This was one of the best parks I've been to, ever! I've heard some stories about Six Flags being rude, unclean, slow, un-themed, and overpriced. And whilst I agree that it's overpriced (what park isn't), everything else was the complete opposite!!! All of the employees were courteous, the paths were not in a disgusting state, there was only one wait over 20 minutes, and the theming was BRILLIANT!!! Now I've only been to two Six Flags Parks, (Six Flags Ohio, (Geauga Lake when 6F owned it), and SFFT when I was four), but so far, 6F gets and A+ in my book. I the most rides I got on any coaster was three, but that was because of the need to constantly keep hydrated in the 100+ degree Texas heat, and I stopped at the nice waterpark, where I got on my first giant funnel waterslide, which was freaking cool and fun. So on to the coasters, I've added 7 new ones to my list, and I 'm happy to say I'm over halfway to a hundred coasters in my life, at 53 as of now. I'll review them in the order I rode them: Goliath - 10/10 Another awesome invert. This was my first of the Batman clones, even though this one's a mirror, but it lived up to all the hype about the intensity. As usual, it was great fun in rows 2-7, but completely EPIC in the front row. Got two rides on this beauty. Superman: Krypton Coaster - 10/10 My favorite ride in the park. My first floorless, so my first of three rides was in the front, and the lack of a floor was cool feature, it made you feel more free and like you're kind of flying. I think all sit down B&M's should be floorless. This beats Goliath as my favorite because I enjoy S:KC in all rows equally. Rode this beast three times. Pandemonium - 7/10 A cool little spinning coaster, short line, made for a fun ride, the spinning wasn't out of control, and there were some cool drops and helixes, and a nice little airtime hill. Got one ride in. Poltergeist - 8/10 Wow! This was my first coaster by Premier, and it didn't disappoint. I loved the launch, and the lack of restraints. But DAMN this thing flies around that mess of track! The g's were crazy powerful, it goes WAY faster through that knot of track than it looks. It was a little bumpy, so good thing there were no OTSR's. Rode once. Rattler - 8/10 This was the only line over 20 minutes in the park, due to those short five-car trains, and long layout. I waited for an hour for the front seat, (having that feeling that I'd have spine issues if I rode in the rear) and some smart person pushed a button which stopped everything, and we had to wait 15 more minutes for the mechanic to re-set everything. But the ride was pretty fun, loved the first to huge drops, and the tunnel. That helix was jerky, so I was glad to not be in the back. One creepy thing I saw was, while waiting in line, when the train flies by the station, the WHOLE structure sways. Now I've seen wooden coasters shake quite a bit, but I've never seen the whole track move a few feet like that before. That was kind of sketchy. Rode once. Road Runner Express - 7/10 Just another fun ride to go on with small wait. Had some fun helixes and decent size drops, but was also accompanied by Arrow's usual jerky transitions. Rode one time. Boomerang - 8/10 Now this is where I'll get flamed. I LOVED this Boomerang!!! I had no headbanging whatsoever. At first I was a little iffy about it, but since there was barely a line, I couldn't resist. Now I didn't give it a 10 because I was in the front, and I feel it might of been different in the back, but this run I took on it was perfect! I kept my head back and had a blast. Rode once. ON TO THE PHOTOS!!! My cousin Jared, a loyal Six Flags food employee. First half of Goliath, beautiful. The forceful and twisty second half. Fun first drop. Jared and my sister will accompany me on my roller coaster journey today. This man has a good taste in headwear. Shake my hand, oh please shake my hand Loopy fun Boomerang from afar The Bugs Bunny log ride thingy. Too lazy to look up the name, but I remember it was really fun, and it had the second best theming so far, after Ripsaw Falls at IoA. You can see how they nicely themed the bridge. Is that Superman I see? Scream. I didn't expect much from this ride, after riding Power Tower at CP, but this one was freaking AWESOME!!! It ran a great program. S&S - if you read this, make all your towers like this one!!! One of the eateries my cousin works at. Credit whores rejoice!!! Flume lift Superman going up Superman watching over the attendants of SFFT Jared also serves All American Nachos.

This was a beautiful park We ended the day with some fireworks and shows about Texas at the Lone Star Nights thing, which you should check out. It's a good way to just relax after a long day of coaster riding. Thanks for a phenomenal trip SFFT!!!
PAL
^The spinner will go crazy if you unbalance the car with two people on one side and none on the other. We visited the day after your trip. I agree, the park is beautifully maintained. Operations, however, were lackluster. No sense of urgency in the ride crews, except the spinner. They kept it pumping.
