Photo TR: Movie Park Germany

Since our Movie Park Germany annual pass expires tomorrow, René (Coasterchi) and I visited the park yesterday. During the winter they've build two new themed areas, Nickland and Santa Monica Pier.

 

Nickland has a new credit, Jimmy Neutron's Atomic Flyer. It's a Vekoma suspended family coaster with the latest model inverted train. It has really comfortable seats and lap bars which you don't even feel during the ride. The train also has spring loaded wheels and the seats can swing a little to compensate for the lateral G's. It was a really smooth ride and I hope that it remains that way.

This shop is very Elissa friendly!

But he's still the coolest character in this ride.

Oh, that's why he hasn't found the giant acorn yet. He got himself stuck again.

We wanted to ride the Atomic Flyer again but, like most of Jimmy Neutron's inventions, it broke down.

Why do people build their beach houses so close near alien infested volcanoes?

Santa Monica Pier wasn't open yet. Not that it really matters, it only has a few flats and a Jeff Johnson credit.

Good Vekoma trains...never thought I would live to see the day.

Dude I love the look of their Splash Battle!!!

 

At first I was really turned off by the Splash Battle rides after seeing the one at Walibi World, but every other one I've seen has such cute and great theming that they look a lot better!

 

BTW, I'll start clearing room off on a shelf now! Thanks!

What movie is the volcano boat ride thing themed to?

Wow, that blues brothers car look too nice. No numbers or dents, just ruined it for me. elwood and jake would be ashamed.

It seems the park really does had a great changing.

That the new kiddy is smooth should be logic since most of the vekoma kiddys ride well.

I hope to see trains like this on a slc someday so you wouldn't smash you head against the restaints.

Speaking about that... how was the slc this day ?

What i do fear is that the halloween would be less then other years since its so open in the park right now.

I think i will check that out my self this year including the new parts.

Its still a shame they destroyed a great coaster but they had there reasons

I might have to skip this park, so that I won't be oblegated to ride "Coaster Xpress"....or.......however you spell it.......wait....Xpress is a different coaster.......sorry....

^ MP-Xpress is the SLC and the wooden is called Bandit. MP-Xpress is the current #1 on my Not-to-Ride-Ever-Again list and Bandit is still in the top 10.

 

Coaster Express is the wooden in Parque Warner Madrid (also in the top 10 of the Not-to-Ride-Ever-Again list) and Xpress is the RNRC clone in Walibi World. (which isn't really that painful)

NickLand looks pretty fun. I love Spongebob, so that is one of the best looking Splash Battles I've seen( only from pictures).

 

For a second I thought that their Santa Monica Peir would be an exact clone.

I love movie world. It was a shame they got rid of CCC though. Not fair.

Sounds like an alright vekoma though. Did i just say that?

Well, here are my pictures! It was a great day and man o man, those new Vekoma trains are damn good! I don't know if you are going to believe it, but really: THEY WERENT SHOCKY The rest of the park looked nice after the winterbreak and Nickland was really nice!

B&M, you can learn something from the seats! The sit really really good and also , you won't notice there's a restraint around you!

 

First we ride frontseat, the first drop is really nice for a kiddie suspended!

 

First thing that came up to my mind riding the first drop was "What?! I don't feel any vibrations, also no hard bumps! This can't be true! But yes, it's a smooth ride from Vekoma

Really cool photo's. That Vekoma actually looks good. Not to big but that's all right.

 

I really hope that someday we'll see these new trains on the SLC. It would be a great improvement if they could get rid of the over-the-head restraints.
