^ Yeah, true.

Great Photos Indeed!

Thanks, for sharing them. I've never seen PKD from those nice angles.

They sure have some really good looking coasters (as for the looks, not necessarily for the ride experience).

Anyhow, I should really try to get there sometime.

I guess I'm the only one who doesn't have a problem with Anaconda. I think Arrows are easy to ride, personally. If you know where the rough sposts are, you just brace your head and neck. I love 'em.

Anaconda was a huge draw back in the early 90's. I think I was in third grade when it opened, and my friends and I were terrified of it. We couldn't figure out how the train went under water without killing the people. I mean, it actually splashed when it went under, so it "must" have gone under water.

Now, unfortunately, with all of PKD's newer and larger rides, Anaconda is always a walk-on. It's pretty unpopular and I can totally imagine PKD demolitioning it soon.

Wow, cool construction picture!! How much did you look forward to riding Anaconda, and how dissappointed were you (if at all) after you rode it?

Was it smoother back in 91 compared to the recockulously painful ride it is today?

Well in 1991, in my eyes and at my age looping coasters were it. I couldnt wait till March 23, 1991 It was my new #1 coaster (out of 6!). It was definitly smoother back then and when it opened it had 3-6 car trains. But soon after it opened they realized that 3 trains were impossible so they stuck an extra car on the back of each train to make 2-7 car trains. it also wasnt braked nearly as bad back then so maybe that has something to do with the roughness.

Thanks everybody, glad you liked them,

JEFF

Every time I watch the movie Rollercoaster, I get nostalgic for the old King's Dominion. It just seemed so magical then.

I remember the first time I went to King's Island in 1978. They still did the Hot Air Balloon over the fountains, and we ate at the restaurant over the main entrance.

It just seemed classier then!

I never realized Anaconda had that self-twisting section of track after the MCBR. That's pretty convoluted!

I love the early pics. Always enjoy looking back in time and seeing how parks used to be. Very nostalgic, even if it's a false nostalgia (since I wasn't actually there...or born).
