ParkTrips
Here are some scanned photos that I got from digging out some old photo albums. These photos are circa August 1993, the year of the Great Flood. I had just turned 7 and this was the second year of operation for the park, so let's do it! - Joe, who also found some evidence of an early Pigeon Forge trip, but no DW photos =( ah, that's better. I'm smiling in that photo, so I guess I enjoyed it. Not a very good scan, but here's my mom scared sh*tless and I'm all "yea, whatever" Don't know whats better: my wide open mouth or my uncle's kickass haircut!! Mmmm... bumper cars (now forever ruined for me by the Lusse Brothers) Not sure exactly what kind of ride that is but look at the hardcore determination on my part Panning for gold, something I did more than once on this trip! (we also visited the Black Hills) Alright mom, since you can't do it let me handle that! *Mom feels bad getting shown up by a 7 year old* Getting ready for the Ballon ride. My mom's buckling me in because I probably wouldn't have done so!
ebl
That ride in your fourth picture is Huff-N-Puff, a kid-powered ride where you basically pump the handle to make the car go around a simple track. The ride is still there, too! I've always said that they need one for adults, only ours would climb hills and give riders a workout. Highly recommended after a Solace buffet for members of a certain segment of our society... Nice Retro TR, by the way. Eric
robbalvey
^ You ask, and guess what? There IS one of these for adults! (Or at least something similar) It's at Idlewild in Ligonier, PA:
YoshiFan
Nice photos. That ride where you pump the handle to go is a lot of fun. They also have it at Sesame Place.
