Sir Clinksalot
Last weekend Gregg had to go to Irvine for a training class. Amanda and I went down with him to keep him company when he wasn't in class. Our day started on Friday at 12 when I got off work. We drove down to Irvine and made pretty good time. We got there by 1:45 and Gregg changed his clothes and we went to get some food. Gregg was supposed to be done with his class by 7, which ended up being closer to 8:30. When he got back we drove around to find something to eat and find someplace to get a toothbrush, mine was left behind. We went back to the hotel after getting El Pollo Loco for Amanda and Gregg and went to sleep after 11. Saturday Gregg was to be in training from 9am-7pm, so I decided to take Amanda to Knott's since she is over 52 inches and hadn't been on some of the rides. We dropped Gregg off and headed to Knott's. We got there about 9:20, bought our tickets and were standing in line, when at about 9:40 they opened the gates! We went straight to Ghostrider. We waited in line at Ghostrider until the park opened, and about 10 minutes after the park opened we made our way through ALL the switchbacks and we were on the first train out, silver, in the back. We had a pretty good ride, it was rough, but didn't seem as rough as last time. By the time we got off of it, the top of the que was full and the line was down the stairs and all the switchbacks on the bottom were full. It was going to be a busy day! After this we decided to go by Silver Bullet to see if Amanda was 54 inches yet. She is SO close! We stood there for a few minutes and watched the ONE train go. Yes, on a Saturday they had one train going. The line was pretty long, and later in the day it was REALLY long. We walked over to Xcelerator for Amanda's first ride. She loved it! She even put her hands up!!! We did not have to wait at all and it was a great ride as usual. They did have two trains going and were dispatching quickly. Supreme Scream was next. They had one tower going. I thought maybe she would be a little nervous, but she wasn't. Again, she loved it, loved the view and was not afraid. I still get nervous going on it! We did the Log Ride (both sides were open), then Screamin Swing which seemed better this time. We had no wait at all for this. It was a fun ride and yet again, Amanda loved it. Jaguar had a line out the door and were running one train full and one empty. We decided not to wait for this. Next was Montezumas Revenge, The Hat Dance and the Dragon Swing. We left and went to have lunch at TGI Fridays then had to find Target. We got lost going back to the hotel, I am not very good with directions. I found out where Santa Ana College is! We went back to the hotel and Amanda was begging to go swimming so we went down to the pool for a few hours. We had bought "Life" the game so played that and watched tv to pass the time until Gregg was done. He was supposed to be done at 7, which ended up really being 9:15. By this time we were too tired to really go out to dinner and he had to get up and go to class again on Sunday. We got a bite to eat and went back to the hotel. Sunday thankfully came and we dropped Gregg off at his class and Amanda and I went to the Irvine Spectrum. We saw "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" on the Imax and wow! that screen is gigantic!! Amanda ate some pizza and we still had a few hours to kill before we could get Gregg, so we decided to see another movie. We opted this time for "Fantastic Four" which was pretty good. By the time it was over we still had over an hour to kill so walked around and went shopping. We bought some books and got Gregg some clothes. We picked him up a little after 5 and started our journey home. We stopped and had dinner at Black Angus and then finally got home and had some wine. We needed it! It was a fun weekend for the most part. It was not as fun as it could have been if Gregg would have been with us at Knott's. It was a long weekend for him and sitting in a class for 12 hours in one day is hard. Here are some pictures of our weekend: TGIFridays Gregg and I Gregg all dressed up Gregg and Amanda Gregg and I Amanda on Hat Dance...see her blue teeth?! disneygurlz2s
So where was Josh??? Did he hook up with Hooters girls for the weekend? Looks like fun! Does it make you nervous when Amanda looks so tiny for the seats of those rides? I keep wanting Sammi to get just a inch taller so she hits the 48" mark, but then I think.."OOH, do I REALLY want to strap her into (insert ride name here) as small as she is?" I know she'd be fine on something like chairswings (that a few years ago didn't have a 48" height limit, anyway) but when I think of putting her on something like Raven or The Beast or whatever, I get nervous. Sir Clinksalot
Josh was at my parents for the weekend. Yes, I get very nervous putting them on rides when they are just at the height requirement. I know they are safe, but it still makes me nervous. When Josh goes on stuff he wants to be holding on to one of us, but with Amanda, it is hands up the whole way! Kristi "my babies are growing too fast!!" C. Sir Clinksalot
I'm a little upset I wasn't able to go to Knott's with the girls but hearing that Silver Bullet was only running 1 train and Supreme Scream was only running 1 tower on a Saturday reminded me that it's Knott's. I guess it would have been better than sitting in a class for 12 1/2 hours on a Saturday.
AllisonY2K
*drool* TGI Fridays... (I'd rather go there than Carrabba's) Gregg, that must have been frustrating being stuck in class knowing your wife and daughter are at Knott's having fun. Yeah, it kinda sucked, but the class was necessary. Gregg "Is now certified ... well, almost" C.
