coaster1
Ok so random trip, 430 miles there and 430 miles back all for Powder Keg. So we got to Branson from Dallas area around 7pm after fighting some traffic somewhere in Arkansas and Branson. Got our season passes at Celebration City and hit the park for Wildcat. Love this ride, running a tad slower than last year, but it's still early in the year. Saw the new nightime show "Nightfire" hit Dennys after and waited an hour and half for food, sucks when very few things are open after 10 in Branson. Next Day, Silver Dollar City, got our $5 Season Parking discount for preffered parking, and into the park at 9am. At 9:30am, we walked to Powder Keg for the second train out. Saw my woman at Powder Keg too, but this ride was well well worth the drive. Nice airtime and nice pacing, except the lift in the middle and after the drop there's not much but the overbank and brakes ... but otherwise, this is a great ride. After that messed around SDC more, more Wildfire and Powder Keg rides. Drive home was ok .. stopped for some photos of mountain people places and such. I love Powder Keg Vinegar taffy ... scary again Wildfire .. lovely mmm Boom! Yup .. scary mmm Ozark Wildcat
Hattuchili
Great TR and nice pictures. However, you drove 860 miles only for one coaster? I hope that was it worth! --Soeren
coaster1
Well yeah, and the fact it's SDC .. never been dissapointed by that park, food alone is worth the drive .. well that and the rides and some people. Already planning on going back in a few weeks after Dollywood/PCW/SFOG trip.
SharkTums
Yeah, SDC is one of those parks you don't mind driving a day to get to! Same with Dollywood, if you ever get stuck in one of those legendary Pigeon Forge Traffic Jams it doesn't matter, cause you're at Dollywood! Elissa "can't wait!" Alvey Well, if you frequent that area of Tennessee for the last dozen years or so like I have (family lives near knoxville) then you grow tired of them REALLY fast. For me, its knowing that Im going to get to ride one of the greatest wooden coasters out there. Mmmmm.
