Actually, cedarpoint tried to do a Christmas event before (I believe it was in the 90's), and it failed. I think it failed because of the lack of things to do, not so much the weather. If you check out youtube, there is a video of the event.

More pictures coming today.

I was thinking more that it was left over from Castaway Bay, which undoubtedly has Christmas stuff in it during December and probably a mall Santa sorta thing.

The large collosium arcade building has a lot of history. You can see some of the history here. Building methods have changed quite a bit over the years.

Thanks for the photos, David...maybe next year we'll be able to make this event.

So jealous that you guys got to see the old ballroom as that is something that I would really like to check out. While it is a shame that they can't use it for some type of guest interaction, I'm glad to see that it is still in such good condition and being used for training and such.

I would highly recommend checking the event out next year if you can. Not only do you get to see the park in the off season, but the proceeds go to a great Charity.

I remember at one time the Miss Ohio pageant was held in the ballroom there. I dont know when they stopped doing it there or if it still is though.

I just swallowed a whole donkey!

I know there was talk a few years ago (maybe 10) about turning the uper floor into a casino. Always thought that was weird.
