The Angry Darren Mullins
December 12, 2015: Fantasy D World I went to Fantasy D World today. I actually learned of this park a few years ago and my first attempt at a visit in 2012 resulted in me getting rained out. The park was originally called Dongyue Joy Park. It has clearly changed names. Fantasy D World opened in 2009 and is an actual gated amusement park. It is not a city park with a collection of rides like so many Chinese parks. This place was built with the purpose of being an amusement park. The buildings in this park look much older and only a few attractions from the opening day are still here. Many of the original rides have been replaced. It seems only the coaster (Jungle Flying Squirrel), flume, haunted house and cycle monorail are from opening day. Most every thing else looks much newer. I got to the park about 3:30. I was told that the rides were closing at 4pm. The park usually closes at 5pm. I got a huge discount on a ride package. The ride package includes one ride on each ride. It is about $21 USD. I only paid $6 USD as I would only get to ride a few rides. I got to ride the coaster twice. It is a very common design here. I had a chance to ride the flume, but the water was so dirty that I opted out of riding it. The park is not very big, but it has a lot of trees. It also had an additional coaster at one time, but that coaster has been removed. The buildings look old, but the rides are replaced every few years. It is a nice little place to spend a couple of hours and take some photos. I have arrived at a small park in the southern part of Guangzhou. Here is something that you do not see often. It is a kiddie Trabant. The carousel looks newer than the rest of the park. The flume dates from the opening day of the park and is in operation. I had a chance to ride, but I turned it down due to the water being so dirty. The haunted house appears to be one of the original attractions here. This is one of the newest rides here. Here is one of the family rides. I see these a lot. I think I have seen this before. China is infested with mice and that is a good thing. I have been on so many of these. I would have rode this wave swinger to finish my visit, but the rides were closing. I got to the park 30 minutes before the park closed.
