So when we came back from Japan, I stayed with Laura for a few days near Portland. We decided to skip our connection back to San Diego and took a bus from Seattle to Portland. That saved us 6 hours more of travel time. We of course visited both parks near Portland while I was there. First up was Oaks Park. A small and kind of shady park. I hear the park has a lot of history. Our visit was quick since we had a music festival to get to.

They have room to build a woodie going along the water. Just sayin

Oaks Park was fun for a few hours.

Now I know why Laura is happy to come here.

We of course had to ride the carousel. Its like our thing.

I love when parks have old school pinball machines.
IMG_3707.JPG
I spend to much money on these.
IMG_3708.JPG
Kind of has a small carnival feel. The employees were very nice and friendly.
IMG_3710.JPG
Nice view from the picnic area.
IMG_3712.JPG
So Laura told me she marathon this coaster once and the workers thought she was crazy.

Let's call it rock 'n' roll (Laura I used a lyric from your fav band)

Laura is in her happy place.

The Waterfront festival was great. 5 stages and lots of random bands.

Best deal - Just $5 for an elephant ear the size of my stomach.

Thanks to everyone who has been reading along. I definitely enjoyed posting about our trip. I can't wait to go back to Japan. In case you missed anything, go here for links to my whole trip report.

With that said, here's my last update from Portland and last update for this trip report. Took me long enough to finish it. I knew very little of Enchanted Forest. I had seen some photos and heard the Humpty Dumpty statue took a great fall. The park is bizarre and I loved it.
IMG_3726.JPG
I had no idea what the park would be like.

After all that great food in Japan, we still managed to fit in one car.

Weird trains.
IMG_3762.JPG
Holy crap the ride was crazy.

Great TR of "After Japan"! I think Enchanted Forest is one great little theme park that's a nice Oregon secret.
I always try and get to it, if I am down Portland-way. And that bobsled coaster is really something!

I also think Oaks Park needs a real shake up in terms of new rides, maybe a new woodie like you suggested,
but of course keeping the ROCK-O-PLANE, by all means possible!

Thanks for sharing all of your trip!

Awesome TR! I've actually been to Voodoo Doughnut when I went to Portland in 2014. Awesome doughnuts, weird (in a good way!) place, just like Portland.
