Nagashima Spa Land Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

Hey everybody!

This thread is simple! Rather than having a million little threads about everything that goes on at Nagashima Spa Land, this thread is designed to consolidate it all into one user-friendly thread. Feel free to use it to post updates, trip reports, questions, comments, and of course, general discussion. For pictures and videos of the park as well as past updates, see TPR's Park Index Page.

Below are some links to past updates from the park, you may be interested in. Enjoy!

Check it out! Acrobat is a new B&M Flyer for Nagashima Spaland. Is it possible that it is a modified Manta clone?

Yeah, it does look like it's a clone of Manta, but Manta really is a great coaster, so the folks that ride this are in for a real treat. I wish there were more B&M flyers out there, especially ones with pretzel loops.

It even goes down to the odd supports on the first drop that were designed to go around the paths!

Haha! That's true. But maybe it's just the rendering. Looks like a good addition for an already nice park.

The custom support will most likely be changed for a regular one, B&M usually change the supports up a bit between clones due to the different conditions at the installation. Ex Scream and Medusa.

What if the ride needed extra supports? SD2K had to use much more steel than it would in most areas of the US because Japan has strict anti-seismic construction regulations, if I remember correctly. Wallygator's Monster is anti-seismic according to Wikipedia. That coaster used to be in Japan. It isn't out of the question for another B&M in Japan to be strengthened.

Yeah, I thought that was the case. Even then, it was kinda funny to see that huge V support going over dirt in the rendering.
