Guys, I don't think the corkscrew is going to actually go at the parks entrance. If I remember correctly the planning application said it was going to go into the gardens.

It should be a nice addition none the less.

^ I think the gardens thing was a rumour that started before anything official was announced. It is indeed going between the ticket desks and the monorail station. Here's an excerpt from the planning application:

That's the ticket desks on the left and the monorail station on the right.

I thought they were going to be part of Corkscrew's theming. Wasn't that a plan too, or just rumour?

I guess you mean Thirteen not Corkscrew, but yes that was just a rumour on various forums.

That contest screams marketing so badly that john d. Rockefeller just turned over in his grave. I still think it's a pretty sweet idea, But testing... come on! What ever happened to a good old raffle?

Alton terrors' ad is banned

Image

ALTON TOWERS' new TV campaign for a rollercoaster has been banned - for being "too scary".
Advertising watchdogs say the ad for the Th13teen ride, which features spooky hooded figures, may not be shown before the 9pm watershed. Stunned execs have gone back to the drawing board.
Th13teen - based on the discovery of an old burial ground - launches next month. It has been touted as the "most gruelling" ride in the country.

That was definitely a win win situation. I also think anything in the future that is questionable will give them publicity when they advertise the scariness of their ride. Genuius! :)
