I went by today and it looks beautiful. The track gets very close to the pathway. They were working on some theme elements too. It will definitely inject new life to that part of the park.

Yesterday I stopped in to SeaWorld Orlando for a quick hour before the park closed to ride Kraken and to check out the latest progress on Mako. The last time I was in the park, the only section of Mako that had been built was the station, so the progress on the ride has been significant compared to what I last saw. This coaster is a beauty in person and I cannot wait for it to debut so that I can get my airtime fix after work every once in a while (it'll probably be more frequent when it first opens)...

I decided to stop into the park after work on a whim... And 45 minutes later I was here!

Over in Antarctica some of the rock work is being refurbished.

Some of the 50th anniversary decor is still up in the park...

Kraken presents some great views of its new neighbor Mako.
image.jpeg
More airtime hills still to be constructed...
image.jpeg
You can see Mako from almost every angle you can see Kraken today.

Seriously looks great!

Over in the new Sharks Realm, the area marquee's installation is nearly complete.

Another look at the marquee...

Mako towers over Shark Encounter and can be seen from anywhere in the Sharks Realm.

The ride dwarfs Kraken as well.

There's a neat new shark design in the groundwork in front of Shark Encounter.
image.jpeg
The aviary next to Shark Encounter is being refurbished as a part of the overall progress on the Sharks Realm.
image.jpeg
The close call with the building looks wonderful!
image.jpeg
Mako crosses over guests twice during its ride path, both times in this corner of the park.
image.jpeg
The last portion of the ride interacts with the guest areas very closely...

I can't get over how nice this maneuver looks so far!

The waterfront seating area behind the Fins gift shop will be a great place to watch the ride's final turnaround before it heads towards the brake run.

The final turnaround still has several pieces of track to be installed.

I can't wait to see Mako finished within the next month or so!

From an off ride standpoint, Mako has to have one of the best looking layouts of all the B&M hypers that I've seen. I love the way the ending interacts with the guest pathways!

The ride looks great! My only nitpick is after the brake run where the train returns back into areas of the park where it's visible to guests.

I wish they would have put a little more thought into it, because the ride before the brake run is really good, the part after just seems uninspired. You know with Mantis how it really has that presence in the park after the brake run? With the water, and the interactive element that really wows people when they walk by? To me it seems like they overlooked that kind of element with this ride.

I know there are two close parts near the paths that interact inside the park, but they seem to come short of the type of attraction I'm used to seeing at this park. Even a low 270 degree helix above the water right there where the guests get to look at for more than a split second really would have added the wow factor that Mantis and Kraken have.

Other than that, I'm sure Sea World will do a great job and this ride is going to be popular.

I'm glad they got those sections over the pathway done! That must have been crazy to do with an open daily park.

I'm so excited for this. I'm a huge Sea World fan, I love the laid back atmosphere of that park compared to other Orlando parks and I love their attention to detail in their new areas. I can't wait to see how the new shark realm turns out.

I have to agree on terms of an aesthetic standpoint, as I think it reacts the best with the midways. I do hope the layout is equally as good, although after riding Apollo's Chariot, that will be hard to beat.
