Great Photo TR, shame you missed Superman, it is like Scooby in that it has a lengthy themed section with lots of effects before the actual launch, it is a pretty good coaster. Glad you enjoyed movie world anyway.

Back to Movie World!

Image
Here at the Police Academy Stunt Show, the two villains have escaped! This guy is getting away on a motorcycle.

Image
Through those doors is the "magical portal to Hollywood."

Image
Yay another credit! And it's a themed kiddie vekoma.

Image
These cars were awesome. Wiley says "Let's go blow up that bird!"

Image
Ugho......back to Lethal Vekoma.

Image
I did like the drop and sharp turn though, it was smooth...

Image
Ohh....man, the guy on the left is taking a hard hit to the face. A common LW occurance.

Image
Dress it up with a nice coat of pain, give it a great theme and surrounding area, give it a bonus helix...but it's still a true Vekoma SLC :\

Image
Heading back to the Superhero section of the park, you can see the "Hollywood" theme.

Image
Paalllleeeaaaassseeee open?

Image
Mm....look at that nice top hat.

Image
Batman has his own cave, motorcycle, car, armored mobile tank, probably a boat....so why not his own SPACESHIP!

Image
LAUNCH!

Image
It's my turn to save Gotham City.

Image
Yay for my first Batman ride. It was a pretty darn good S&S, too. Beats Power Tower.

Image
I'm in the Batcave!!! Batman is hiding in the shadows.

Image
Mmm....I'll come back for ya.

Image
Superman has Escaped me this time.

Image
Flying while intoxicated?

Image
Nice hill, does it come in 90*?

Image
Ah, now that looks more like it.

Image
Airtime, much?

Image
Back to Wild West Falls before the park closes.

Image
Some aussies I met in the park...my "American Accent" kinda made me stand out. Oh, there's the station.

Image
The WWF overview. The park pretty much dead ends here.

Image
Almost got all of the sign.....oh well, this ride kicks major butt. I love Scooby!

Image
Leaving the park I saw that one chick again, and I had to get my pic with the entrance. Later Movie World...see you tomorrow!

The description of Earthquake sounds so familiar... :lolr:

Too bad USH or USF don't have an Intamin rocket coaster to go with the show!

I thought the Police Academy show had closed. Did they bring it back or did it just not close yet?

I still think it's awesome that they have a show from that movie series.

Not yet closed Robb, but I believe it will be closing this year.

Perhaps someone else could confirm/debunk this rumor?

EDIT : Just checked the website and there is no notice of the attraction closing....as yet.
The Old Man, no longer MIA.

^ I'm pretty sure it's closing this year, some Hot Wheels show is replacing it.

Bingo, when I was at USH I did see quite a few similarities, though the Universal version has somewhat better effects (Fire, sparks, the truck).
I have always had this lingering feeling that they were indeed borrowing ideas. Interestingly, Shrek 4D opened a few months ahead of Superman, and I wonder if during all the dealings to get Shrek, they saw what Universal had done with earthquake and decided to use some of that too.

Wild West Falls looks like a clone of Parque Warner Madrid's flume, in which case i assume it's awesome.

Great TR! If you are still in Australia, be sure to pick up a box or two of TIM TAM, the BEST cookie anywhere! Loved them when I visted Aus back in 2000.

Well if the one at Parque Warner has a backwards double down, it's probably a clone.

Here's a video of Scooby Doo's queue area. It's a pretty cool, nicely themed area...check it out!

John - Tim Tam's are awesome! I've had the Caramel, Regular, and Double Coat......Double Coat is the best! I'm stocking up before I leave!
