Second in my series of Trip reports: Bellewaerde. This park is about 50 km away from Plopsaland. This parks has nice theming, all though nowhere near Plopsland level. However, and this is a big however, there are some exotic animals here. Combining this with the fact that half the park is in the middle of a forest, you get a fun atmosphere. There are about 6 zones in the park and getting from one to the other can require 10 minute walks through a nice lane in the middle of a forest, so this park has a really mellow relaxed atmosphere.

2 credits: one of the first boomerangs and a kiddie coaster.

On to the pictures. It was a cloudy day, so the lighting is off in some of them. One third of the park is missing in these pics, because the lighting was just to freaking awful

To end, a nice little shot of the Boomerang.

Here comes the pain! Not! This ride was pretty smooth as far as Boomerangs go. Still loving Vekoma :p

The bird was all like "I'm going to eat your young"

New for 2005 was the Huss Tople Tower. Pretty fun ride, but nothing spectacular.

Los Piratas is a huge dark ride, which I found very impresse when I was 11, half my current age. Now it was all about the nostalgia.

On the other side of the park, the Western and mexican side, there's a nice flume

My girlfriend / life partner / future wife on the left, kid brother on the right, friend in the middle, checking their shoes before launch. We saw a shoe get catapulted away on an earlier launch.

Pretty much the first time I've seen a "Canada land" outside of WS...

And let's not forget Fort New France at BGW.

That picture of the Boomerang train whizzing by looks like something you'd see hanging in a contemporary art gallery, where men weaaring goatees and ponytails and women smoking clove cigarettes would stand around and look contemplative.

Thanks for the pics.

Not bad, but the photos don't do the park justice.

It's véry green, with alot of gardens and flowers in the summer.

And alot of animals, lions and tigers are what the park is known for. Great river rapids too.

I don't see that in your photos.

However, the park is getting old and boring due to the lack of new exciting rides.

We got a Topple Tower last year, which replaced an older swing ride. A step in the right direction, but next season we might get a rubbish Breakdance from the Dutch Walibi (formerly Six Flags Holland).

The park needs cleaning up, bigger animal areas, a new coaster (the newest one is an '84 Boomerang), a new darkride, new scenery for the tow boat ride, etc.

The park has so much potential...It could be a Belgian Chessington.
