PRESTON-- Utopia's four proposed theme parks would become the Northeast's leading family destination, surpassing the nation's third most visited theme park -- Epcot Center -- and generating more money each year than the region's two casinos, its promoters say.
Utopia officials project its parks would also match revenue with Six Flags Theme Parks Inc., the nation's second-largest operator of amusement and theme parks. If approved, it could open as early as June 2007.
But Utopia's Chief Financial Officer Joseph Gentile says his four all-weather parks cannot be compared to existing theme parks. After all, what other park also boasts movie studios and a performing arts college?
