  1. What is the best way to organize/carry 5 family drink cups (those all you can drink things that come with the gold meal passes) at Six Flags? My wife is still worried about this, and we leave Wednesday. Those of you who have 5+ members, including kids, how do you do it?
  2. We will be at Six Flags Fiesta TX Dec. 31 & Jan 1. This will be our second visit to a 6 Flags park in the past decade, after going to Six Flags St. Louis back in September, and buying the 2016 annual passes for the family. (including the all you can eat option for lunch, supper & snack) Our experience at Six Flags St. Louis was mixed - some great wooden coasters, great food choices, and the kids had a blast. However, we struggled with figuring out how to organize our drink containers so that we wouldn't constantly be leaving 1 behind somewhere. I'm used to being able to just throw a backpack over to the unloading zone on rides, so that we can pick everything up as we get off. On several occasions, I was forced to exit the ride area without getting the ride I had just waited a half hour for. Eventually, we stooped to hiding our backpack in bushes, hoping someone wouldn't find it before we got back off the ride. I was asked if I had a medical condition that required me to have the bag there, but I wasn't going to lie. I'm not sure why they don't just have shelves or pegs where people can hang their stuff nearby. My wife is suggesting that I get a fisherman's vest with loads of pockets and places to put things. However, I'm not sure how that would work with the drink containers, or how I would ride some of the rides with shoulder harnesses that come down over your shoulders if I had something like that vest on. What would you guys suggest? Thanks!
  3. How do you guys take care of the drink containers while going around the park? We will be at SFOT on Jan. 2 & 3. We have 5 in our party, including 3 kids, and obviously the all you can drink containers are coming with us. However, from our trip to St. Louis, it seemed that a backpack was the only way to keep all of them together while we went about the park, since we didn't want to have them left various places, and keep looking for them. (I assume that these would also be appealing theft targets if left behind anywhere) Trouble was, they kept spilling all over the backpack, too. I am absolutely certain that if all 5 of us walked around for an hour trying to keep them in hand, at least 1-2 of them would be left behind somewhere. Also, several of the rides wouldn't let us throw the backpack over where a person gets off a ride, even though we were already boarding a coaster, and needed to put it over there. We were reduced to hiding the backpack in bushes near the entry to the ride lines, then hoping nobody took off with all of our drink containers & stuff. Is there a better way to do this? Where do you guys put your all you can drink containers when going on coasters? How do you keep your family stuff together? Thanks for suggestions. It's obvious that we need to change something, but we're not sure how to go about it.
  4. Have they fixed all of the problems with the Justice League ride yet? We went here back in September, and they kept having ride shutdowns due to problems. While we were actually ON the ride, it got stuck. I was also not impressed with the video at all, compared to similar rides I have been on at Universal, such as the Spider-Man one. The story seemed good, but it really seemed like the video or something might have been rushed to meet a deadline. I hope they redo it and get it decent.
  5. We (family of 2 adults, 3 kids -ages 6, 11, 12) are getting ready to travel from Ohio down to Texas, arriving down there late on Dec. 25th. We have a couple of days allocated for Six Flags Over Texas, and a couple of days for Six Flags Fiesta Texas. After that, we have about 4 days at South Padre Island to relax before heading back north the morning of Jan 4. First, I'm wondering if this might be too much Six Flags all together. Obviously, we wouldn't be there at the parks all day each and every one of the 4 days, but I'm still a little worried that this might be too much all at once for the kids or my wife. Should we break it up if possible? (one park for a day or two at the beginning of the trip, followed by ~4-5 days at South Padre, then 1-2 days at the other park right before we head back north? Second, when we went to Six Flags St. Louis in September, there were some unexpected surprises. We have the meal plan, and we had a backpack to keep all 5 of those huge cups together, plus to hold our camera. The cups ended up leaking all over the backpack, and then we had to spend time cleaning it out and such. Can anyone recommend a better way to keep track of all of the cups, theme park cards, and everything? Also, on one or two rides, I got up to the coaster, and was ready to throw our backpack over to the departure area, to wait for us to get off and reclaim it. They told me no, that unless I had a medical condition, this was not allowed. I'm much too much of a cheapskate to be forced to rent a locker, so I just skipped the ride and waited for everyone. Is there a better alternative? Other than wearing a fisherman's vest and having things in pockets, (which would interfere with some rides with over the shoulder restraints), I can't really think of a solution, if they won't let me stow a backpack or duffel bag where we will disembark the ride. Help!
  6. I second Batman, which I rode at the largest Six Flags theme park in the World - Six Flags Worlds of Adventure back around 2002. I think I recall that it was built in Switzerland, so I'm not surprised.
  7. Hi everyone! I'm Daniel, a coaster enthusiast in the Dayton, Ohio area. My main interest is classic wooden coasters. While I realize that there's one in Europe, I'm still watching for a Thor themed roller coaster here in America. (A shame we don't have one yet, even after he's been featured in several big movies lately) Until then, I guess my avatar will have to serve. (a Thor coaster, get it? ) Below are some photos I took of a coaster we rode back in 2002, when they briefly reopened Americana Amusement Park. I'm not sure what ever happened to the Screechin' Eagle when they closed down the park.
