  1. Ed Hart has said before that he doesn't like launched coasters because they're expensive to run and have reliability issues. Firehawk is apparently both of those things. Hard to see him making this move. I don't think you're thinking of the right roller coaster, and that the coaster you're thinking of is not going anywhere anyways since it'll be open for Winterfest this year. In terms of reliability and expense, you're probably right though. That ride's horribly inefficient (and loud) My bad. I was referring to the fact that he dislikes launched coasters because they're expensive to run and unreliable. Apparently Firehawk is very unreliable and has likely been expensive to maintain recently. So it would make sense that even though Firehawk isn't a launched coaster, Ed Hart wouldn't want it for those same reasons.
  2. I just can't see Vortex being the ride that is removed. It's really popular with the GP, no matter how much enthusiasts love to hate it. Plus it really fits well with the aesthetic of the Coney Mall area with its classic feel. Removing it would really detract from the atmosphere of that area IMO. Firehawk, on the other hand, is apparently a maintenance nightmare. It has never really fit in well with the Kings Island coaster line up, and I think a lot of people just kind of forget that it's there since it's sort of out of the way. Plus, it's blocking in what could potentially be a pretty large expansion area.

  4. The park's Twitter and Instagram story both seem to indicate that something will either be teased or announced tomorrow. Instagram story says "2019 plans? The fun begins 09/14/18 on our YouTube Channel!"
  5. The noise from the amusement parks would disturb all of the corn Why is the Beast trimmed?
  6. So does anybody know if they've done away with the turkey legs this year? I absolutely love them and I haven't been able to find them in my two visits this year. I also can't find anything about them on the food section of the website or any of the park maps.
  7. I just visited Kings Island yesterday and it seems that they have loosened their policy this year. While I didn't ride Congo Falls, it seems that they are now allowing you to ride at least Race for Your Life Charlie Brown and White Water Rapids in your bathing suit so long as you have some type of shoes on, where as in the past you've always had to be fully dressed.
  8. I think the thing that makes the least sense to me is how Cedar Point allows guests to wear swimsuits on all of their water rides in the dry park, but no other Cedar Fair park has this policy.
  9. Wicked Twisted at dusk. One of my favorite pictures that I've ever taken.
  10. The Vortex at Kings Island. And I was terrified of inversions at the time
  11. Thunderbird. I'm not a huge fan of wing coasters but I was pleasantly surprised.
