  1. With Dreamworld being my local park (around 1 hour away), this event has shaken me badly. A few things that people should know from my general observations about the ride, particularly how its run. 1. The loading platform was once a continually revolving one like most rapids, but in the early 2000's they converted it into a two station platform which doesn't revolve with the unloading platform about 3 boat lengths from the end of the lift hill. 2. The ride almost always is typically run with two operators. 1 for loading/master control panel and one for unloading. Its been a tough day for Queenslanders and Australians as it is one of the most beloved attractions at our main park. I know it sounds silly but EVERYBODY has been on this ride.
  2. 27th of November, a date that I had been waiting for nearly two years prior. The day we would finally fly out of Brisbane, Australia and embark on my dream journey around the US. This trip was in place for the usual Australian "Schoolies" trip to celebrate my 12 years of schooling and opened me up to a whole new standard of parks. The plan included visiting Disneyworld (6 Days), Universal Orlando (2 Days) where we were lucky enough to be given free tickets with unlimited express INCLUDING the Harry Potter Attractions, a Western Caribbean Cruise on RC Freedom of the Seas and finally the Disneyland Resort (2 Days). So lets being this report. Virgin Australia 777, ready for the first of two flights to Orlando. Total time in the air being nearly 20 hours! After arriving at our hotel well after sunset we awoke to this wonderful view of sunny Orlando. We decided to visit EPCOT first, due to our grandparents raving about visit in early 1990's. What an impressive first impression Spaceship Earth made when our family was entering our first ever Disney park! Up bright and early we made our way to Animal Kingdom. Just like Spaceship Earth the Tree of Life made another impactful entrance. After being wowed by Spaceship Earth and Soarin we decided to take a walk around World Showcase due to the insane queues at all of the parks attractions. Thanksgiving Weekend... China Pavilion, ended up having dinner at the Nine Dragons. Would really recommend the banquet. My family was astound with the parks beauty. My mum kept on mentioning how much it reminded her of EXPO 88 which was held in Brisbane. Mission Space, I've done it once. I may do it again someday. We waited about 15 minutes for Illuminations, I could have waited all day. What an amazing show. It was honestly the best way to end the first full day of the trip. The level of detail put in this park was astonishing, really put Australian parks in their place. Food Truck. I can't believe in only opened that year, looks like it had been their for decades. The ribs are really worth a try!! Beautiful river with the parks best attraction in the background. Expedition Everest. Kilimanjaro Safaris was fun. Expect we thought it seemed to be a 'hit and miss' attraction which we were on a 'miss' run. Its weird that not one animal seemed to be phased at the hundreds of guests passing by.
  3. Hi Guys, My family and I are currently in the process of booking a trip from Australia to the US from late November and throughout December. While on this trip we plan to have just over a week to explore the parks in Orlando and have also booked a "Western Caribbean Cruise" on Freedom of the Seas. We have just a couple of quick questions which you can hopefully guide us in the right direction for this part of the holiday! 1. As we plan to spend the majority of time at Disneyworld (as well as visiting both Universal Parks) is it a better to stay at a Disney resort, use their transportation and book a shuttle to the Universal Parks or book at a resort eg. World Quest, where the rooms are much bigger and hire a care. After doing a a browse both options are quite relative in price but our travel agent seems to think staying at a non-disney resort is better but with benefits at Disney like myMagic+ I am unsure with what to do? 2. We have a spare day in Orlando which we don't have anything planned, is there any non-themepark attractions that you recommend doing? If not what other parks would you recommend visiting that are in the area? 3. We booked the 7 night Western Caribbean while on a Voyager sailing to New Zealand. Knowing that you guys have done this itinerary numerous times is there any port excursions that you recommend? I know that we are leaning towards doing the Stingray City and the Turtle Farm excursion in Grand Cayman but have no other idea what do in the others. 4. For internal flights within the US is Delta a good airline? We are leaning towards flying with them because they are best fit for our itinerary. 5. What is driving from MCO to the parks like? Is easy to get too? Hope these question aren't too annoying, just asking you guys since I know that you can give me 100% straight non Bull**** answers!
