  1. Woody Allen's Annie Hall is worth watching purely because he lives in the hotel underneath the Thunderbolt Rollercoaster at Coney Island.
  2. I've asked for a refund. This sucks big time. Good graphics yes - but the original RCT beats this into a cocked hat.
  3. I remember the Dreamland trust also bought up the old King Solomon's Mines wooden wild mouse from Southport - it that likely to appear anytime soon?
  4. I've been a marketing manager and director for over 20 years and I have never heard of a title like "Marketing Activation Supervisor"!
  5. I do find it a little disappointing that SFMM did not squeeze out all the potential a Colossus RMC remake. So much of the old structure went unused; the ride could have taken another whole lap around the structure per side. Yes, it's the longest hybrid roller coaster, but I can't get over the fact that, especially with two lifts, it could have been twice as long. I don't understand the logic of people complaining that they don't "go around another lap". A single ride on old Colossus was TWO laps of the footprint. If you rode on the other track (if it was running you'd have to get of the black train, pay for another ride and get on the red train). With Twisted Colossus you're still getting TWO laps of the foot print but your get TWO chances on the big main drop. Are the complainers saying that it should be FOUR times round the footprint as a single ride? You never got that on original Colossus!!
  6. Forgive the probably stupid question from an interested Brit. I enjoyed watching old and new Colossus vids - it's like a giant version of my home town coaster the Grand National. But why such an aggressive trim brake on that half way (ish) flat section - looks like it utterly killed the ride. Was it because the last section would be too intense at full speed (wouldn't have thought so) or was the structure getting to rickety? Those last few hills might have been great fun at full speed - as it was it crawled round that last turn around like the old Southport Cyclone!
  7. Oh so you mean Twisted Colossus will get the eventual Six Flags treatment? Aka run both sides opening season, then never run together again after a year and a half with one side sitting dormant for large amounts of time? Twisted Colossus is a single track coaster now. A möbius loop. They can't close once side of it because the train has to complete both circuits before it returns to the station. All they can do is put fewer trains on so that the duelling doesn't work - but they can't close one side like they could with the old ride.
  8. People are moaning that half the Colossus layout will be missing from the new ride. But as you'll effectively go around the new ride twice the overall track length is about the same for an individual rider as it was on old Colossus (you didn't get to go round twice there did you) - so I can't actually see what the problem is other than the loss of the structure.
  9. Nice to see them turn it into a Möbius loop like the Grand National or the Kennywood Racer (I.e. One track going round twice). I always thought it was a shame the original Colossus was built as two tracks rather than as a Möbius loop - then they would have not been able to close one side(but then I guess that's why they didn't).
  10. There seems to be a distinct lack of originality when naming and renaming some of these rides. How many Goliaths are there in the world now? Would be nice to have a "David" for every 10 Goliaths.
