  1. Luckily, I'm not a big enough credit whore to go on a circular powered coaster. But if I was, I would count it. I just thought of something interesting: Texas Giant vs. New Texas Giant, 2 credits or one?
  2. *talking to friend who just got back from king's island* I mention Son of Beast, and he says that he rode it. I say, "You rode the wooden coaster that is one of the highest in the park?" He says yes. I respond, "Not the one that goes through the woods, right". At least he knows that one is the Beast, and he says he rode the Beast AND Son of Beast. I tell him that Son of Beast was closed in 2009 and is probably going to be torn down, and he insists that they reopened it. This conversation happened in 2011. Also, once I was in line for Space Mountain (WDW), and this blonde with a 3-4 year old kid is right in front of us. She said she was from New Jersey, and asked where we were from. We said Louisiana, and she asked, "Wow, is that in Europe". We said its a state about three states away from Florida, so she replied, "Oh my god, but that's so far!". So apparently Louisiana is farther away from Florida than New Jersey is. *edit--someone's youtube comment on a s:ros sfga pov: this is exactly the same as silver star at europa park the only difference is that silver star came first and it has an extra helix
  3. 1. Busch Gardens Tampa 2. Universal Studios Orlando (both parks) 3. Disney World 4. Astroworld (RIP) 5. Six Flags New Orleans keep in mind this is based off parks i've been to
  4. This thread is for horrible roller coaster/flat ride/dark ride/theme park ideas. Anything that is a bad idea will do. Here are my first two: A family coaster that leaps, dips, and turns through the hilarious world of one of TBS's greatest comedians. Get ready for Tyler Perry: the Ride! Ready to get thrashed around, black out, and have tunsa fun? This brand new coaster features unsmooth banking, very tight turns, sudden elevation changes, and trains that blow up upon the slightest collision. Get ready for Roller Coaster Tycoon: the Ride!
  5. realizing NOLA has not a good woodie within 9 hours. What's worse than having all roller coasters in the country replaced with vekoma boomerangs?
  6. I think the monorail trains are just fine, but maybe they go to MGM and animal kingdom too? Disney transit is pretty confusing sometimes, and this would be easier (at least for me). I haven't checked on financial factors of this, so don't bash me if I'm being unrealistic.
  7. Thank you for mentioning Mega Zeph! The first drop was a weightless experience for me (when i was 7 lol) and all of those ejector bunny hills lifted you out of your seat. I remember one of them was so intense you had to push against the lap bar, or get your stomach rammed into it. Plus the rickety feeling of an all-wood coaster makes it feel even faster. Also, Gwazi. Everyone seems to think that its too rough, but that's just what I like about it. Also, its very similar to Mega Zeph in the amount of g's it delivers. And it never has a line which is always a thumbs up.
  8. Houston, and New Orleans. These places are local enough to me, so I know what I'm talking about. Houston is, what, the 3rd most populated US city? Astroworld was great, but since demolished, they don't have any parks, and the closest thing to an amusement park is Schlitterbahn Galveston, a good hour away. Baton Rouge already has a small amusement park with a Galaxi, a vekoma boomerang, and two crappy spinning coasters, in addition to a very credible water park (Blue Bayou), and with a medium sized population I think that's adequate. But NOLA has had nothing since SFNO, which housed an amazing CCI (Mega Zeph). Once, Viacom promised a big Nickelodeon Park on the SFNO site, but backed out quietly. There was also supposed to be a water park at the site, which has been scrapped too. There's two pretty intact vekomas there, (backwards looper and boomerang) it would be a bargain to just restore the salvageable rides and open a small park there for any stable company.
  9. I have never been to Cedar Point, first of all. I know I will one day, being voted best park on Earth 11 years in a row. Even if I have to drive for 2 days alone and sleep in the Sandusky Motel 6. So I've done a considerable amount of research, and is this about right for the coasters (in no particular order)? Top 5: Bottom 5: Raptor Mean Streak Maverick Disaster Transport Millennium Force Wildcat Top Thrill Dragster Mantis Magnum XL-200 Iron Dragon I have a feeling that I will like Magnum and Mean Streak, because they are very rough and fast (fyi I gave Gwazi a 9/10, and thoroughly enjoy intense ejector air). So are my expectations about par, or am I missing something?
  10. As I have only been on coasters in the South, my input is limited, but the most overrated coaster for me was Incredible Hulk. Sure, the launch/zero g roll is fun, but everything after the first corkscrew is pretty boring. It's still an 8/10 for me because of the forceful cobra and giant loop, but it shouldn't deserve all the fame it gets. Dragon Challenge is amazing though, don't get how anyone thinks that's overrated. First runner-up is Rock N' Roller Coaster at MGM. The Launch, like Hulk, is fun, and so is the sea serpent roll at the beginning, but then there's like 5 bunny hops in a row, MCBR, bunny hop, corkscrew, another 3 bunny hops and then the station. Sure it might be cool for someone who has only been to Disney World, but it shouldn't be considered Disney's "extreme ride", I found Space Mountain much more fun, and maybe even more intense because of the intense lateral g's. However, SheiKra is in no way overrated for me. Yes, it's short, but the vertical drop and immelman are both epic, and even that second almost vertical is still really fun. Maybe I'm spoiled because my wait was only about 45 min.
