  1. This coaster being right here in town is going to make it difficult to, you know, go to work and stuff.
  2. It looks like just the Lola side to me too, which I always thought was the better side. Lola had some good airtime hills. Stella had more and tighter curves which weren't comfortable in those old Gerstlauer trains. I can't wait!!!
  3. Rode it today. Really liked it. It wasn't by any means as smooth as a brand new steel coaster, there was still some back-and-forth jerkiness, but that didn't bother me. I didn't have any problem with wiggle-room for my arms. The best part was the double barrel roll, really enjoyable without my head and neck being beaten to death. I saw no evidence of a second train. One hour wait with one switchback full.
  4. Has anyone been to Hoiday in the Park yet? We want to either try that out or go to Dollywood's event. We'd be coming from KY so Dollywood would be much closer but we'd like to try something new if it is anything in comparison. Thanks!
  5. Wow, is this the first year MK surpassed Tokyo Disneyland?
  6. I've ridden Top Gun / Flight Deck / Bat hundreds of times. Rode CW's Vortex for the first and only time this year and my impression was that Vortex was faster.
  7. Hey Darien Lake pros, I'm headed to Canada's Wonderland this Sunday for the first time and I'm contemplating leaving early to try and get DL in. So, if I leave let's say, the Cleveland area in the morning and need to be in Toronto that night, would there be enough time on Saturday to do this park? I'm interested in hitting the coasters (maybe ROS more than once), the log flume, and some flats. Would crowds permit getting all of that done? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
  8. Thanks for the tips, guys! Keep em coming! I am really looking forward to this park! We got a nice rate at the Hilton Airport Hotel, which Google Maps says is 18 minutes from the park. Anything I should know about that drive? Is it worth it to take the toll roads or would it be better to do surface roads? Thanks!
  9. I'm headed to the park on Sunday for the first time and any tips/advice would be greatly appreciated! What can I expect as far as holiday weekend crowds? We are getting FastLane Plus to help us hit everything. It looks like to me FastLane doesn't include the lower-capacity coasters, so my thoughts were to get there the second the park opens and head to Thunder Run, Fly, Bat, and the junior coasters before those lines get long. Then, as long as everything is running multi trains the only other long wait for us should be Time Warp, right? Thanks again!
  10. Sorry if this has been discussed before, but does anyone know the fate of the Ameri-Go-Round? It was an antique carousel from Fontaine Ferry Park here in Louisville. According to the wikipedia page, it is stored in crates under Superman. Is this still true? I read that at one time there was an effort to bring it back to Louisville and I'd love to see that happen.
  11. I like how the Coaster Expedition series, particularly the ones filmed on your tours, kinda tell a story. The Thorpe Park segment from way back on Volume 2 remains one of my favorites.
  12. I love the POV videos, but I prefer randomly coming across them on your Facebook page or searching for them on YouTube. As far as sitting down and watching a full-length DVD, I prefer the music videos of you guys enjoying the entire parks, especially when you are on an international tour of some parks most of us have never even heard of before. That's why I vote Coaster Expedition.
  13. I rode this coaster on a typical college spring break trip in 2006. I was lucky enough to pull a couple of people away from the drunken debauchery to take a few spins. Even the non-enthusiasts who went with me agreed it was the highlight of the trip. I hope the person / people who designed the layout get back into the game soon. Sad to see this coaster go..
  14. Mine was getting to play Tour Guide / Decision Maker for my family's vacation. We did all of Disney and Universal in five days. I hadn't been to Orlando since I did the College Program in 06. The Harry Potter ride was really amazing. Another highlight was spending an entire day at Holiday World's Splashin' Safari for the first time. Their water park is so cool.
  15. Yeah, this is super-cool. And I don't think anyone is going to mind that it's the same hardware as Spiderman. All four Disney parks have a 3D theater (Philharmagic, Captain EO, MuppetVision, and It's Tough to Be a Bug) and they all seem to be a success.
