  1. I plan on being there and that is my birthday weekend too. I will be cool to meet up with other tpr members.
  2. yes, very interested. Never been there before. I do not know a lot about that Six Flags other than some faint memorizations of a commercial of the Georgia Scorcher a long time ago when I was traveling through there.
  3. I do not think the restraints make a difference with this particular ride, so far I am very impressed with BGT. I wonder if we will see something like this in 2012 here at my home park BGW.
  4. I agree with you Rob, how could someone complain about that building. I was amazed with your pics and they are great. I was following the progress of that buildng from when it was only a concept on paper. The guy that made the commet, "it is only 16bucks taller than the sears tower observation deck"; evidently he has nothing else better to do, but fucking complain. Evidently, he does not know anything about the building and the technology it took to construct the building. He does not realize that if the sears tower was standing anywhere over in dubi, it would not withstand the winds and would fall to the ground. I just woke up and was looking at your post and then got to his stupid comment, which ruined the whole expierience for me. You should take comments like that and put them into "what the hell were you thinking" category.
  5. The site worked great for me using the 32 bit version of Internet Explorer and Safari Web browser. I could not get it to work on using IE64bit or google chrome, but I am running an old AMD 64bit 939. Probably has a lot to do with type of machine and browser you have.
  6. I think it could have something to do with the first turn after the drop. I believe it has to do with weight distribution on the train in that high speed turn. Maybe a certain percentage of the weight has to be on one side of the train. Just a guess. I am happy to hear it is going a little faster. I rode it back in March before the public when it was speeding away unleashed at 94mph and no trims except the little one on the third hill. In a way I hate I rode it that early now. I experienced something I had never felt before and never felt a drop and turn so intense. It was almost like my hearing left and for a brief second or 3 and everyting went black for a brief moment. The first time I rode it I did not even remember the 1st hill at all. It was like an addiction for me I thought it was cool. I rode it 10 times total in 2 visits. Each time I got off, it was the best feeling, I would regroup and hit it again. Anyway, I just do not know if I can ever be satisfied the way it is now. I guess I will see on the 22nd for the club event.
  7. Anyone from the Norfolk area going to the TPR event Aug 22. I am looking to carpool if possible.
  8. First of all, the majority of those people that get rides mixed up, only visit the parks maybe once every 5 years or longer. Of course they are going to get things mixed up. They probably associated the location with the ride from their last visit to the park, but I am sure once they got there, they realized it was not psyclone. I have always been told that "you should know a little bit about everything, or at least enough to get your foot in the door. One of my Captains in the Navy all ways told us that. I think that philosophy is good to live by.
  9. I just came in on the end of this conversation, I could not help to notice the comments about the general public. I am not for sure who said the general public do not know the difference between coasters, but I for one think that is rude and disrespectful to everyone on here. My family could be the general public you are talking about as well as other TPR members families. You should choose your words wisely. There might be a small percentage of the general public that do not know the difference, but that could be because they have not rode all of the rides to compare them other then the stats on paper. Every person I have talked to that is not a coaster enthusiast, know the difference between the rides after the ride them. They actually know the difference between a cobra roll and batwing element, although they do not call it that, they do notice the difference. I just wanted to get that out Now can we discuss the new flat ride they are getting, I for one would like to know more about that.
  10. There is always hope. It would be interesting if they did. I wonder what type would it be. A hypercoaster would be pointless unless they replaced Magnum XL. I think they will probably get a B&M Flyer.
