  1. Nice series of updates from the past few days... sentosathemepark.blogspot.com/
  2. From Screamscape: Videos of Battlestar dueling...Interesting... ADMIN EDITt: AGAIN, In the future, please try to embed the video or at least attach a better description as to what people are clicking. A four word description doesn't always instill much confidence when a person is clicking a hyperlink. I have gone ahead and embedded the video for you but feel free to use the YouTube tags when posting any additional videos.
  3. According to the blog on the Intimidator 305 website that support that is up is only a temporary support during construction.

  8. They have finally updated the construction gallery and blog... http://www.intimidator305.com/public/latest/gallery/
  9. Interesting Update... Mayor's Office Press Release In the press release it says that Six Flags must "vacate and deliver to the City the leased premises, including any improvements in their current condition" pending the bankruptcy court's approval. This may mean rides would be returned to the park but I'll believe that when I see it. New Orleans CityBusiness Article
  10. I just realized the mountain backdrop looks like a row of cars sticking out of the ground...
  11. A member of SFNO.com has posted pics of the plans. They are screen caps from a television but it looks like they plan to change a lot at the former SFNO... Scroll to the Bottom
  12. They could claim in the South if in their minds Texas and Virginia are not in the South...
  13. I expected this, I guess sort of let down from what everyone was predicting or expecting. I noticed complaints about the ride layout, location in the park, trains, name, etc. but I think this is what we should expect right now and for the next few years. It's a bad economy right now and it seems that $25 million is the limit for rides at these chain theme parks, i.e. Cedar Fair and Six Flags. Universal, Disney and Busch(or whoever they are ran by) are the exceptions to this $25 Million limit. Im only speaking for the United States but as we see with Intimidator 305 a "recession" giga coaster. They really cutback on the roller coaster but thats not to say the ride won't be fun, I wish we had ANYTHING down here right now. Naming/Sponsoring of the ride was a money grab and just like the sports arenas and stadiums and we may see more and more weird names for rides. Of course all of what I'm saying may not happen but it was something that was on my mind this morning...
  14. Breaking News! Nickelodeon Theme Park? We shall see...I hope this gets done but we know how things work down here... www.nola.com/business/index.ssf/2009/08/nickelodeon_to_build_theme_par.html Nickelodeon to build theme park at old Six Flags site in eastern New Orleans Published: Tuesday, August 18, 2009, 11:44 AM Updated: Tuesday, August 18, 2009, 12:39 PM By Martha Carr, The Times-Picayune Flanked by Mayor Ray Nagin and City Councilwoman Cynthia Willard-Lewis, Nickelodeon officials today announced they plan to build a theme park at the abandoned Six Flags site in eastern New Orleans, starting this fall and opening by late 2010. In July, the Baton Rouge firm Southern Star Amusement applied for $100 million in bonds for the project. Southern Star plans to partner with Nickeodeon on the deal, with Nickelodeon lending its considerable marketing muscle to the venture. Officials from the two firms this morning sketched out a vision of a revitalized park that contains a mixture of rollercoasters and other traditional amusement-park fare with water-themed rides. In an application to the Industrial Development Board for Gulf Opportunity Zone bonds, Southern Star said it wanted the bonds to restore existing buildings and major pieces of equipment at Six Flags, which has not reopened since being damaged in Hurricane Katrina. Later today, officials from Nickelodeon and Southern Star are scheduled to appear before the IDB in support of their bond application. At the announcement this morning, they indicated that the viability of the project -- which they described as a $165 million deal -- is largely contingent on approval of the bond application.
