I noticed that the transfer track, which had been under construction, has been removed from the helix. Also, the "switch" at the bottom of lift hill1 has been replaced with a straight section of side friction track. The transfer table looks to be unchanged. [/img]

I believe he was a member of NAPHA, as they were at Knoebels on Saturday and toured Flying Turns construction.

As of 6-9-07, the first lift hill was still not connected to the helix. Yes, there is a tree slightly in its path. Also, the exit of the helix is not connected to the second lift hill. Work has begun on the footers for the station. There is a concrete walkway which runs under and parallel to the main lift hill. I'm guessing this will lead to/from the station. I also heard they are considering a "draw bridge" configuration instead of a switch to get to the service track. ...Just what I heard!

Yes, Flying Turns does have 3 lift hills.

Hi everybody! Here's a link to some of the photos I shot of the Flying Turns construction. The pictures range from the pouring of the footers in February to the construction of the main lift hill in September. Primogen18 and all - There has been no work on the station which leads into a 540 that goes into the main lift hill. After you shoot from the final turn, there has been no construction which takes you on the brake run to the station. My source tells me that they are waiting for engineering to provide them with the blueprints to complete those sections of the project. Not Gospel... just what I heard. BTW, more pictures are coming soon. I have stuff from February 2006 to present. That is an advantage of living close to the park.

I stopped by the park last Sunday night to do a little night photography, and came upon Flying Turns lit up by the construction crew doing some work. I shot the ride from the roadside near the final turn which leads to the brake run. It is a 5 second exposure illuminated only by the park security lights. It was such a nice day today that I decided to be good to my camera and take it for a ride. We ended up at the Flying Turns project. I have posted more pictures of the progress. Knoebels is taking its time and doing it right. Some of the pix show the complexity of the layering of the trough. You can also see the wireless webcam system.
