  1. Not sure if it's my eyes that are deceiving me, but what is an overbanked turn on Rage looks to be an uninverted top hat on this one. Not sure if its just concept art being concept art, but thought I should just point that out...
  2. I got petrol for 85.9p earlier today, which is a load better than the next garage along which had it at 90.2p but was sold out. Go figure.
  3. I agree! What the hell is going on! Why has he been nominated as best supporting actor! It's a comedy! Comedies are never nominated, especially in acting categories! Popular theory is, they've nominated poorly in the best supporting actor category so it's an easy win for Heath. But, to be fair, he is awesome in Dark Knight.
  4. That, my friend, is the funniest coaster pun I have EVER read! As for my suggestion, how about... Rita? Nah, that's lame.
  5. I have to admit, that ground hugging section does look great! Probably because there isn't an abundance of butt ugly supports
  6. There is also no 'third rail' on the plans, which turns the trains on a 4D coaster. I could see alton going for a 'different' riding position, ala Jet Rescue. Every new coaster AT get has a gimick to it. They have inverted, flying, launched, spinning, powered, vertical. Something like a motorbike style seating position could easily be done looking at the plans. Add to that a tilt or switch track and Alton DO technically have a worlds first on the cards.
  7. If AT were to get a Gerstlauer, I'd put my money on it going in the black hole tent. SW6 is supposed to have a capacity of 1200ph, which suggests a train length of 16+ capacity, and I none of their current coasters (at least adult coasters) have actual 'trains'. Correct me if i'm wrong, of course! Which manufacturers have previously done switch/trick track? Maurer, vekoma, premier, S&S? Any I'm missing out?
  8. To be honest, the only manufacturer we can properly rule out at this stage is Togo! It could be anybody. Who's to say B&M haven't been working with AT on another new concept. B&M have never done anything such as trick track, and haven't introduced a new ride type since Air in 2002. In fact, B&M have never done anything other than coasters with a good old fashioned lift hill (excluding Hulk, but then the launch wasn't done by B&M). Times have changed, so maybe B&M have decided its time to do the same! I'm not saying it is B&M, as I still have my money on Vekoma. But then again it could be intamin, mack, Gerstlaur, Premier, Maurer...
  9. I can definately see what people mean by saying its an eyesore. That raised block section especially, from what I have seen from pictures, is not very pretty. Those messy, earwax coloured supports scream of Manhattan Express. The ride itself though, the layout looks great. It's great that Universal are trying something different (rather than just Hollywood Dream 2), but let's hope it rides better than certain other Maurer coasters. I'm looking at you G-Force!
  10. It is certainly an ambitious project I'll give them that. The ride itself looks like a cross between a B&M and an arrow multilooper. Seems like something that large over the sea would surely not be a smart move. What with the salt water, the immense size of the supports that would surely have to be on the sea bed, the weather out at sea... it all seems a bit too over the top and would surely cost far too much! It certainly puts to death the thought that they'd settle for a little pinfari looper lol And with Adventure Island down the road, do they really need something like that? Hmm.
  11. Hey there! After years of reading the boards I've finally decided its time to join! My name is Mike, I enjoy theme parks, rollercoasters, cliches, going to the movies and spying on the neighbours. I hope to speak to you all soon, before more than likely forgetting my username and password at some point and going back to lurking.
