  1. I was there a week after Rob and likewise I was surprised as to how busy it was. There was my first ever trip to IOA, so I simply assumed that was the norm. Thankly the single rider lanes kept my visit enjoyable. Overall I thought the park looked really nice. Althought I have to admit, I was a bit surprised at the number of tats on the princess in the Sinbad show. It seemed to take something away from the show, but maybe that's just me.
  2. Long time reader, infrequent poster. As my profile says...fifteen minutes from my house, might have to actually attend one of these events....
  3. Shane, Got a question on Volcano. I think I remember artist renderings of the ride (before it actually opened) that displayed the ride with Flying Dutchman trains.. ie X-Flight, Nighthawk. Is my memory incorrect or was that just a marketing mistake? Or were there some secret plans to actually create the ride with those type of trains? A flying Volcano coaster? Now that would be cool.
  4. One of my favorite parts is where Matt starts cracking up during the Grog dance at the 6:36 mark. The next movie in this series truly needs a blooper reel. Keep up the great work guys!.
  5. Here's a link to the article (without the pictures). Provides some nice insight and also mentions "est". Thats the first I've heard of that acronym. http://www.pennlive.com/news/patriotnews/index.ssf?/base/news/1210970405181280.xml&coll=1
  6. Shane, I couldn't stop looking at that picture, that really is amazing. As others have stated, I never really thought they built a prototype of this, I thought all they had was an operating model. Thanks for posting, this truly is a great find.
  7. Yes it is closing, but just for a rehab. Today's Patriot News announced that Chocolate World will be offline beginning tomorrow for a three month rehab. You can read the entire story at http://www.pennlive.com/news/patriotnews/index.ssf?/base/news/1136197260138301.xml&coll=1 The ride was originally built by Arrow back in 1973 around the same time that Hershey Park converted over to a theme park. As the article states, the ride has been through two rehabs since then. This one is going to cost five million, so expect some changes. They mentioned that they're adding singing cows. For that price they should add some singing Donkey's just for Robb....
  8. Last evening the Derry Township board approved the plans for the 2007 waterpark addition to Hersheypark. Looks like its going to get a little more crowded around the Lightening Racer. Entire article can be viewed at: http://www.pennlive.com/news/patriotnews/east/index.ssf?/base/news/1132741279186920.xml&coll=1
  9. Heading out to Vegas next Monday, May 2nd. Anyone have the latest status on X-Scream or Insanity after the "malfunction", which really wasn't a malfunction after all. I've been watching the Strats webcams over the weekend (sorry Robb, I don't spend all my time on themeparkreview.com) and it appears that neither ride has been running. Doesn't give me a warm fuzzy that they will be up next week when I'm out there. Anyone know a status?
  10. Can you change mine to.. "Just a little older than Robb"
