  1. Planning a potential trip to Memphis, Little Rock and Branson for June. For those of you who have been, what are your opinions of the following parks: Libertyland Crystal Springs Celebration City Silver Dollar City Whitewater We also love out of the ordinary, roadside america kinds of stuff. Any recommendations or advice? Take it easy, DAC
  2. Thanks for this little ray of hope Robb. Ghost Town is one of my childhood parks which hold alot of great memories. Did you know that Burt Reynold's worked in the park as one of the gunfighters one summer before becoming famous? Red Devil has to be one of the most visually specatular coasters anywhere due to being perched on the side of the mountain. Holding out hope that this park will someday return to us. I somehow get a feeling that these investors may have an interest in this property for other purposes. Hope I'm wrong. Seems that I may have read somewhere before that the owner will only sell on the condition that the buyer keep property as a Theme Park? Take it easy, DAC
  3. We made our first trip to SFOG last summer. Mindbender was far and away my favorite coaster. I also really liked Superman and Georgia Cyclone. Loved the Parachute Drop and Haunted House. Mine train was fun as well. Park had an overall feel similar to PKI for me. SFOG was the most enjoyable Six Flag's park I've attended. Would highly recommend staying in one of the hotels near the main gate. We stayed in the Sleep Inn and it was nice to go back to the hotel to relax in the afternoon. There are about four hotels closer to the enterance of the park than the parking lot. Take it easy, DAC
  4. We are season pass holders and will be there for "Sneak Preview" on Friday, 3-25. Opening day for the GP will be on Saturday, 3-26 and we'll be there that day as well. "Festival of Nation's" will be premiering on 3-26 so that, along with the three coasters and discovering the 10 new flats in the Country Fair section should be more that enough for a full day if not a full two days. Take your time to enjoy the side attractions which some people may overlook when visiting. These include: An area and display of unreleasable American Bald Eagles, An authentic Steam Locomotive ride back up the mountain, and an International crafts market and food court. Make sure you try one of the four sit down restaurants (two have all you can eat), my personal favorite is Granny Ogle's Ham-n-Beans. Find and ride the Slidewinder. Hope you have a great trip to Dollywood. The crowd can vary from light moderate to light heavy on this day according to the weather. The park is actually opening to the GP about a week earlier that normal. The official Grand Opening weekend is the following weekend. The Grande Madam, Dolly herself will be in the park on that Saturday. Take it easy, DAC
  5. Indiana is blessed with two of the greatest amusement parks and three of the best woodies in the world. I voted for Cornball as it is just a fantastic and fun coaster. Raven is a close second with Legend third. LOCOSUMO has to be the most unique ride I've ever been on. Hoosier Hurricane is a mildly pleasant coaster which lacks the airtime it looks to have some great potential for. Take it easy, DAC
  6. Our family went to SeaBreeze for the first time last summer. This park has three of the best "small coaster" experiences of any park we've ever attended. The spinning mouse was fantastic. Rode this ride over and over. The Bobsled's were quite unique and fun. The Jackrabbit has so much history and I'm a huge traditional woodie fan. We went on a weekday and the crowd was very light. We took advantage of the parks after 5:00 p.m. special. For anyone who goes to this park, check out the park on Lake Ontario at the bottom of the hill just past the park. Also Bill Gray's was a great place to eat for Hamburgers and Shakes. I understand this is a Rochester traditional favorite for fast food. This is also just down the hill from the park. We enjoyed Seabreeze much more than we did Darian Lake. Take it easy, DAC
