  1. I'm surprised we have not seen one of these yet, the concept has been about for some time and I thought a lot of smaller parks would of been interested in this as it looks like a rather neat budget launch coaster... Hopefully we will see one of these in the next few years, as I'd like to find out what they are like as those layouts in the graphic art look rather thrilling.
  2. Fantastic Video Robb, it's one of the best Coaster videos I've seen just on the footage alone, the reverse Nemesis view is just stunning... Click
  3. You've really over-exaggerated on Towers Street, it's far from tacky, it's a generic theme that's meant to suit the precense of the Towers. Towers Street in now way is based on Main Street USA, it's got very little resemblance, sure it's not themed but it's not all dirty wood facades like your saying. The thing is, Disney is probably the only park that does theming everywhere, Disney is a huge company with much larger budgets than what most other parks get so they can do such things, I'm sure Alton would, as well as other parks would if they had the funding, it does not come cheap. I still cannot work out why you wanted a Six Flags park, if you want something like Disney...
  4. No offence, but have you even looked at half of Alton's rides ? Sure not Disney standard, but it's much better than a large percentage of other parks throughout the world. Nemesis, Hex, Oblivion, Duel, all very well themed attractions, in fact Nemesis and Alton Towers are recognised for their theming. So if you think the UK is bad I think you should take a look at a lot of other places throughout the world, sure we could be better, but we could have it a lot worse. Then we have Thorpe Park which has a few well themed attractions, as well as Blackpool which has a few well themed attractions, much better than what Six Flags could come up with, so why the hell do you want a Six Flags ? Then you have Chessington which also is a park that has some very well themed attractions... Six Flags will not invest into the UK market, it's not got that much of a demand at the moment, too much competition and could be a bad business move. I cannot believe you think the UK has no Themed Parks...
  5. They are back again, I knew it was too good to be true that this whole issue was done with, let's hope the high court see that these demands are not possible, Alton have done all that they can do, they have even got rid of this years Fireworks mainly because of them...
  6. You mean 2005 ? Tussauds pulled the plug on it, instead they constructed Rita. But Alton Towers currently are in the process of planning another smaller scaled wooden coaster for 2008, along with a new themed area... Not much is known about it apart from it will be similar in size to Megafobia at Oakwood! I'm not saying I do not beleive you, I'm just doubting it, it's not a ride type that I can see Tussauds investing into and the whole smaller scale thing I cannot see happening due the to train weight and size, they need a fair sized drop to gain enough energy to make it through a course, even with smaller inversions, it just does not add up to me, Thorpe are a park that like to play it safe... I could be wrong, I'm not saying I do not beleive you, I just doubt the idea, until I see cold hard facts and plans I will doubt it...lol Tussauds only own about 2% in Port Aventura, the rest is owned by some spanish bank, so Tussauds only have a small share in it, therefore they do not own it outright like there other parks! Universal was the majority share holder for a while, then they sold it onto the current owners, throughout that time Tussauds still had there 2% share in PA.
  7. Highly doubt it, Trying to get planning permission would prove a nightmare, for one S&S 4D's need to be quite high to pick up speed due to the large train size, Thorpe cannot build anything over 100ft, Stealth was and will be there only exception, so you will not see anything any higher than 100ft from Thorpe.... Plus 4D's have a very dense support structure, this might prove a problem with the land plus it would be rather un-pleasant for the locals, although I cannot see that being much of a major issue. Plus the ride type in itself is far too expensive, Tussauds never invest over £12million for an attraction, your looking at almost double that for 4D in the UK! So I doubt a 4D... As for this new purchase, it will be interesting to see how it develops, I really cannot see what direction Merlin plan on taking for the Tussauds parks as there much larger to the parks they currently run, mainly Alton Towers... So it will be interesting indeed...
  8. Awesome Stuff! The Alton Towers Halloween events were always fantastic and they put on a great event, it's a shame they have not had the event in three years although it seems this year will be making up for the all other years that have been missed! Cannot wait to see how this all turns out....
  9. S&S Sky Swat! (Slammer - Thorpe Park) It's just such an odd experience, it really gives a great adreneline rush and offers quite an intense ride..
  10. I got a lift down to Adventure Island today to see if anything was happening on site, not much was going on, two workmen were just working in and around the lift tower and there was one of the cars at the top of the lift which remained like that for the duration of my visit. Here are some photos: The car that was up on the lift tower for the duration of my visit... One of the Rage cars in the Station.. Tower/Layout Shot! Kicker Wheel on the base of the lift tower... Sexy yellow track. lol Chain motor.. Inline... The support base structures. Supports connecting to the base. The tri-track in the sun. Random shot... More track... 97 Degrees Straight Down! Random container shot... Another drop shot.. I leave you with a shot of Southend Beach... George!
  11. All of the POV's ive seen of stealth make it look slow. The ride is terribly short but you get a great launch alot of airtime and some very intense points at the bottom of the top hat. I love it myself.
  12. Best time to visit is on a school day and dont go during a school holiday there are garunteed to be queues. I did get plenty of airtime on the camel back, more airtime than on rita.
  13. I'm not trying to argue with you or anything like that but can you prove that it was "flying over the top hat" because that seems very hard to believe from when I was their! Well below is a bit of footage a mate of mine took. It goes over the top at quite a good speed. It gives plenty of airtime. So you must of gone on a stealth bad day if it was going over the top at a slow speed. Because the day I went it was going pretty quick over the top. http://www.savefile.com/files.php?fid=8790748
  14. Well I went on stealth 18 times in one day. No queues at all thorpe was empty. I experienced alot of ejector airtime on the camel back and it only crawled over the top hat on about 3 occasions. Apart from that it was flying over.
  15. Hve you been on the same stealth ive been on. The airtime hill offers plenty of airtime the chances are if you have the restraint down really tight and you hold on for dear life then you most likely will experience less airtime. Stealth only crawls over the top 1/10 times maybe even less. You get plenty of airtime at the top and on the camel back.
