  1. I'm sorry, all I heard was In which case I agree. I can see where this is going: "Wow! Has anyone else ridden the new Sine X/2pi yet? In this model, they changed a lightbulb in the station!
  2. Sweet! nice picture of our Milph can. That little holder was actually made from the cardboard rolls that our printer paper comes on. The PH of course stands for photo, as that photo was taken in our photo booth. A shame I missed you guys...I was working Maverick that day, but I had the early morning "rain rain rain" shift. In case you didn't notice, James (another ride photo sales associate I work with) turned MilfPH into a clever acronym: "Midgets in leotards fit perfectly here." Seiousy, though, last year everyone on the Force Photo crew bought hoodies saying "got milfph?" that hoodie is featured in one of the display photos on the counter.
  3. We NEVER kick them out on the first offense. We always warn them politely first. The other day, we had a woman who, after being warned (and having her monitor deactivated), decided to give us attitude and try and snap photos of all of the monitors (even the ones that were not hers). We called security on her, but even she wasn't kicked out. I've been pestering my supervisor to buy us some signs, but they're not our biggest priority at the moment. Still, this is hardly a minor thing - it's breaking copyright law, not just our own silly rules. Regardless, I never think less of a person for trying it once. I understand entirely, especially considering the lack of signs. It's only when someone scoffs or continues after being warned that I get photo-nazi on them. 65Skylark, I believe, handled this rather well. As for those of you who do not respect our rule or brag about breaking it, I look forward to enforcing it myself should we ever meet in person. The only reason for bickering about CP's policy that I can understand is the issue concerning signs. That's why we always warn first - and that's why we rarely kick anyone out over it. Once they've snapped the photo, they don't NEED to break the rule again, at least not at that coaster (where they would recognize that guest). That guest, the one who gets his picture before we can dump it, has won. He needn't be after a high quality photo he can display on his mantle, he may have just wanted to show his friends the silly face he made or whatever. Either way, he succeeded in making use of it without needing to buy it, and he is free to do so at any other coaster he wants since each one has a different crew and will have to assume it was his first offense. Rather than dismiss EVERYONE from the park the first time they try it, we warn them first and thus pretty much allow EVERYONE to get away with it, as they only need to do it once to get what they were after. Still, we have kicked people out over a few circumstances - one involved a person being transferred to cover a break at another coaster only to witness a guest they warned earlier repeat the offense after not expecting to see that employee again. A few others involved guests snapping more photos in rebellion after being warned - that sort of thing we have very little tolerance for. Just remember: we took these photos, we have every right to keep them to ourselves. No one has any "right" to take pictures of them, even if they weren't planning to buy them anyway. If you want your friends to see it, remember your number and we'll be glad to help you show it to them later. Even if you don't consider it "wrong," it is at least very rude to photograph someone else's property without even asking. [edit] By the way, as for those of you who admit a disregard for this rule, I think we have a precedent to appeal to on this matter. Remember the "getting away with a POV" thread, and Robb's response?
  4. We actually don't have a sign up saying not to, really. We're supposed to remind guests in our spiels and yell something like "please do not photograph the monitors" if we see a camera held up, but otherwise you had no real way of knowing. It's likely one of my little green-tag stooges was slacking off that day and didn't notice you. I'll yell at the crew about it tomorrow
  5. Very nice...minus the whole "taking a picture of the on-ride photo monitor" thing. The photos we take are the property of Cedar Fair, and photographing them is copyright infringement. I've had to kick out at least one person (and yell at countless others) for doing that repeatedly. We try to turn off a monitor if we see someone aim a camera at it, but we can't always be watching. Seriously, though, if we find someone photographing our monitors after warning them already, we WILL call security. If they give us an attitude, we'll do it on the first offense. You're lucky neither Jessica nor I had been working the M-force booth that day. We get pretty defensive of our precious ride-photo screens
  6. Unless, of course, the large crowds prevent you from getting your dueling dragons credit, and you fall into madness and despair from having been so close before your hope was viciously snatched away and dashed to pieces. You'll likely go into a major depressive episode, lose all contact with reality, and have nothing to live for but the prospect of the reaper's cold grasp that might someday bring you respite. ...other than that, no big problem.
  7. Bring something besides a media player for entertainment, though. For the first half an hour after you take off and the last half hour before you land, they make everyone shut off any electronics. Perhaps a book...? *cracks up* riiiiiight Just think "accelerator coaster" during the taxi, "airtime" during descents, and "Vekoma SLC" during turbulance, and you'll be just fine. If your ears start to pop, chew on some gum or swallow repeatedly (swallowing and yawning cause the eustachian tube to open - that's the structure that allows pressure inside and outside of the ear to equalize and relieve the tension).
  8. On my most recent BGA trip, I got 21 rides on Sheikra, and 28 on montu (including the last ride of the day). Only 6 on gwazi (kept trying to catch em whilst they dueled, I hated every one of them minus the ONE ride I got while they were dueling), and just 4 or so on Kumba. total = 59 There wasn't a single line ANYWHERE in sight
  9. My understanding is that lines will begin forming for Maverick at 4:30 in the morning on opening day. You will NOT get on Maverick opening day, I can almost assure it. Roller coasters draw a LOT larger crowds than "rides" rides. The world has seen screaming swings and deleriums before, but we haven't seen a "coaster" line at cedar point for 4 years now. We've all gotta stretch our minds to remember what it was like when TTD opened. Maverick's opening day won't be much better. You guys remember when millennium force opened up? For the first month, the lines were 6 hours long on peak days. During the 4th of july celebration, it was expected to reach 9 hours. Remember that Cedar Point has no express pass of any sort, so the only way to ride is to get in line with everyone else. Take my advice: appreciate new coasters for how short they make the lines for the other coasters. Give it a few days, and Maverick will definitely have some a short and sweet line you can just jump in casually. For the first few, however, don't even bother. Just take the opportunity to ride M-force and TTD as much as you want while the crowds are drawn away. Oh, and by the way, for those that haven't been on one of the older intamin's: if you're overweight, drop some pounds now . Cedar Point is VERY strict on their seat belt policy, and M-force and TTD have some of the tightest seat belts I've ever seen. Don't bring any thick jackets, and don't overstuff your pockets. Less is more.
  10. Congratulations on getting your first pass to the "parent swap" line! Oh yeah, and the kid's nice too.
  11. /\ enjoys the fries that are MILDLY carcinogenic < is a student of medicine, and knows that each bite you eat of McDonalds foods is a year off of your life. \/ doesn't know what "carcinogenic" means.
  12. On a scale of one to ten, yes (shut up, it makes sense when you think about it. Seriously). Is the only English word you know "No"?
