  1. I'm an "Oh Sh*t!" kind of guy. The only rides I still get butterflies in my stomach and still get freaked out on are drop towers and skycoasters.
  2. When it comes to height requirements, IMO I would consider SFMM to be a lot like the Cedar Fair parks in the sense that there are not many 42" rides. Cedar Fair parks all seem to have higher requirements of identical rides to other companies. It was mentioned already, but outside of the specific kids areas which are designed for kids around 5 and younger, there is really nothing for the 42" 6-9 year old kids to do. Kind of off topic, but when comparing identical rides from SFGam and CGA, Six Flags has overall a more family friendly atmoshphere. The Orbit CGA: 54" SFGam: 42" The Demon CGA: 48" SFGam: 42" Fiddler's Fling/Centrifuge CGA: 46" to ride alone SFGam: 42" to ride alone Drop Tower/Giant Drop (Just for the sake of comparison) CGA: 54" SFGam: 48" After reading a lot of these posts, could the state of California might be pushing higher requirements for rides in their parks (although Cedar Fair seems to push them even higher)? I mean if you really look at it, SFDK, SFMM, CGA, and Knott's all seem to have higher requirements when compared to similar rides in other states. Another comparison to kind of confirm that would be Kong at SFDK is 54" while Thunderhawk at MiA is 52". I kind of went off the SFMM trail, but kind of made my point.
  3. Uncle Will, will probably be able to fot on Vortex, which is the stand-up at CGA. I have seen some tall people that were able to fit. I don't know what the SFDK policy is, but at CGA since there are no test seats for any of the rides in the park, you can always have them go through the exit and try out a seat, and if they fit, then go back and wait in line.
  4. Switchfoot rode Vortex before they played at the Spring Celebration concert at CGA last year.
  5. If CGA gets sold, who says that the park is actually going to close? If the 49er's buy the park and decide to keep it open, they could hire someone to manage the park.
  6. Why would you be excited about riding Kong? Canada's Wonderland has Flight Deck which is identical to Kong.
  7. If it weren't for Xcelerator, I would have not gone to Knott's this past summer. There coasters are mediocre and Silver Bullet is the worst coaster in the park IMO. There are absolutely no forces on that ride what-so-ever. Unless I get in the park free, paying to go there with Xcelerator running is not worth it to me.
  8. X2 Tatsu Terminator Deja Vu SuperMan Ninja GoldRusher Riddlers Revenge Goliath Batman Colossus Scream Revolution Viper Canyon Blaster Your list is out of order... X2 Viper Tatsu Ninja Deja Vu Terminator Superman The Escape Gold Rusher The Riddler's Revenge Batman The Ride Scream! Colossus Goliath Canyon Blaster Revolution ^I think it should go like this, otherwise you'd be backtracking too much. I think yours is backtracking just as much. Going up the mountain to Ninja, then down to Deja Vu and Terminator, then back up to Superman, then back down to Goldrusher. I went to the park last summer and this was how I did it. I got to the park early and as soon as the gates, open haul ass to X2. After X2 I bypassed Viper and went to Tatsu. After Tatsu I headed over to Deja Vu. Right there you just knocked out the three longest waits in the park. After Deja Vu, I would get on Terminator ( who knows how long the line will be). Then I would do Riddler's Revenge, Batman, Colossus, Scream!, then Goliath in that order. After Goliath I headed back to the front of the park and did Revolution and Viper. Then I headed up the mountain and did Ninja and Superman. Then headed down to Goldrusher and got some re-rides. I finished the park at about 7:00 with bathroom breaks, lunch, snacks, etc. included in the time.
  9. According to the park website, they raised the general parking to $12. I checked Knott's website and it is also $12. Maybe it's a California CF park thing because the other CF parks I checked are still $10. Maybe this is a move to get more people to buy a season pass since it includes free parking.
  10. No Do you watch any of those dating shows (Rock of Love, Flavor of Love, etc.) on VH1?
  11. Thats true. I guess time will tell, but I'm mostly thinking how many of their woodies at their parks are considered rough and use trim brakes. And they're also doing some major work on the first turnaround on the Grizzly at CGA.
  12. The only ones for me is the helix on Goliath at SFMM, and the turn right after the loop on Flight Deck at CGA.
  13. A lot of parks have multiple coasters with same colors. The primary two seem to be yellow and red. At SFMM they Viper, X2, and Ninja that are all red. Anyways, the name "Nighthawk" doesn't signal yellow to me.
  14. If they can't think of a better name other than Possessed to fit the dark "theme", then "theme" it differently. I mean, the only themeing the ride has is the sign. I would rather see it called Steel Venom than Possessed. For God sakes, Impulse is even a better name.
