  1. The cave is awesome and I’m not claustrophobic but I can’t imagine it being too bad for someone who is. not gonna lie, the day you’re going I could see being busy. Usually that’s not a major issue but you’re gonna want to hit Powderkeg first, second and third because that ride sucks with capacity. TT would be next but that’s on the opposite side of the park and usually a quicker line anyway. Mystic River is broken down half the time so get on that when you can Tom and Huck is an incredible water ride. Outlaw Run never really has a line.
  2. The CFA-esque chicken sandwiches over by Time Traveler have been a go-to for me for a few years now.... also they have self-service Coke machines if you desire "free" refills. Their skillets are what they are most famous for - some of them hit or miss for me, but they have a potato/pepper/sausage one that is pretty good. I am not a huge fan of the new BBQ place - it's just fine to me, and it's fairly pricy.
  3. Dude, I live in KC. I walk around the city every day. Congrats on your one area that is shitty.
  4. I get all that. But disparaging KC as impoverished or whatever is laughably ignorant. SDC is a destination park 3 hours away, they seem to do OK. There are a lot of people in this region that drive for vacations and do it with families. KC is getting a freaking World Cup game. I know that's not the end all-be all but it's not a backwater like, idk, Des Moines.
  5. And Cleveland is basically Dubai on steroids, thus CP gets all the attention. This is an ignorant comment.
  6. I would do Spinning Dragons first, personally, because it has bad capacity and usually a super long line. Patriot and TW are then the next two you'll encounter as you continue through the park. I mean, every coaster there has crap capacity because the staff is sloooooow but Mamba and Prowler theoretically have good capacity so those can wait. Cyclone Sam's is the GOAT flat ride.
  7. The TVs in the queue and station showing cycle times only exacerbates the problem. Any of their B&M coasters should never have a train in the station for more than 180 seconds but it happens every time.
  8. I went Wednesday and yeah, the staff was... Lackluster. Restaurants on the all day dining plan not opening until 90 minutes after open is absurd (especially when I have children with me). They also weren't verifying QQ at all which is a good problem to have I suppose, I'm just annoyed I paid for it. IG was absurd and the death roll is probably my favorite element on any ride ever, but I still came off a bit underwhelmed. My second RMC and first iron horse so maybe I just expected too much but it still slots at my #3 behind Voyage and MF. Falcons fury being closed was a bummer. One train on Kumba sucked. And the more I ride Cheetah Hunt, the more I love it and I think it's probably the second best ride in the park. I almost like it better than Maverick.
  9. 20 people died in the duck boat incident like 2 years ago, apologies that the locals here give a shit about other people during storms now. Yes everything carries risk but SDCs infrastructure is an absolute disaster and they need to fix it. It's my favorite park in the world but it's legitimately uncomfortable to visit on busy days.
  10. This may make me a bad poster. But they lost me and 3 additional admissions for the Gwazi fiasco. We booked flights 4 months ago and we are still going to Tampa cause we have a place there. But they don't seem to care. Busch is expensive and doesn't want to open their new ride. So I'll see them next year I guess.
  11. Booked flights to Tampa for the end of April. It's gotta be open by then, right?
  12. Visited today for the first time in 3 years. WoF is geographically my home park but SDC is spiritually my home park. With that in mind... The park looked awesome, as good as it has since the hunt days. First went to Prowler, it was closed. Did a nice hour or so marathon on Mamba, as good as ever. It was hauling and the midcourse was fairly light. Some of my best rides ever on it. Skipped over to Patriot, was fun, I'm not a big invert guy so whatever. Did steelhawk for the first time, terrible ops but a decent ride. Jumped over to Timber Wolf. Through the new turn, was fantastic. But my God the last turnaround and everything after was absolutely brutal. Unrideable IMO. I love the ride but it was baaaaad. Did another few laps after that on Mamba again. Not the most intense ride but running like it was today, I can't refuse airtime. Made it back to Prowler and did 5 or so laps. It's my favorite ride in the park, with some RMC level intensity on a GCI ride but the helix turnaround makes TW feel like Millennium Force. Just some awful jackhammering. Front seat, back, no matter the train it's awful. The first half is top 10 worthy, the rest needs some TLC. Plus the stacking meant if you were in the first half of the train you baked on the brake run for 5 mins. Wrapped up with 2 laps on Patriot and the GOAT flat ride Cyclone Sam's. All in all, a good day. Park is beautiful. But damn they need a top level coaster. I dream of a mini Cheetah Hunt on forum hill, and as sacreligious as it is, just RMC Timber Wolf. If you aren't GCIing the whole thing you just need to give up. Also every single beer stand was closed. . Ops were not great but most people were in OOF so it was manageable. I am just bummed at how much potential this park has but I'd much rather drive the 3.5 hours to SDC (where I have a SP) than the 45 mins to this place.
  13. The other option would be Dorney but I have basically the same park in my back yard. Not sure it's worth it especially since I don't have a CF pass. Also haven't checked their hours yet either.
