  1. 2005-2009 Six Flags Canada Kingdom was undergoing through decline due to the parent company going under financial trouble especially running two parks in Canada, Canada Kingdom in Ontario, and La Ronde in Quebec. Debates within the company were large. Due to of this, some attractions closed and only one new one was built. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The newest attraction was Twizzlers Spinner. Canada Kingdom's first and only sponsored attraction to replace Twister due to age and increasing operating costs. Taken in March 2005. Totem Pole was closed permanently and demolished. However, no new attraction toke it spot but, just leave the land empty. Taken in September 2007. Hot Coco Cups were closed and demolished as well. This became a sign to many park goers that the park is in deep trouble. Taken in September 2007. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The recession would hit in 2008, crippling the Six Flags company and, unable to pay its stockholders. In 2009 to 2010, the company would undergo Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection to reorganize itself. They would drop Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom after negotiations and, Canada Kingdom went through negotiations about its future. In 2009, they announced that Six Flags is going to withdraw from Canada Kingdom to focus on Le Ronde for financial reasons. They say the park will be closed permanently in the winter season. Six Flags would begin to start to take some of the rides to reused in other parks. Mind Warper was moved to Six Flags Fiesta Texas under the same name, Rolling Rocker was moved to La Ronde, Batman and Robin Night Flight was sold to the owners of Discovery Adventure after finding no room for it and became, Screeching Hawks, Superman the Ride was put into storage along with Ricochet until there is either space or a potential owner of it. They would remove any Six Flags signs solidifying of them never returning. Tomahawk was moved to Vancouver for Playland however, it remains to be reassembled. Other attractions were moved while some remained in storage. Taken in July 2011. The park would be given to the Government of Ontario in 2010. The park was put up for sale for any land developers to either restore the park, rebuild it into something new or, demolish it. Its fate will be determined in the future... Thank you for reading the 2005-2009 update. I will make a future update as part of the conclusion and release the park and the coasters.
  2. 2001-2004 Six Flags Canada Kingdom was only getting bigger in the 21st century. The park had new rides announced for the next millennium. However, these plans were delayed after the September 11th attacks that dropped tourist rates. The plans were put into motion in 2002, a year later. It would be expected to be complete in 2006. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Haunted House was closed and rebuilt into a roller coaster as, Dead Mansion, opened in 2001. Taken in April 2001. The unoccupied space was taken over by, ForestFire! This was the newer water ride in the park opening in 2003, outdoing the original water ride, Alberta Lumbering. Taken in August 2004. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Canada Kingdom became more thrill seeking than it was. Thus caused some of the original visitors to feel dissatisfied about it. Feeling like Canada Kingdom became more of a generic amusement park than, something about the Canadian identity. But, it's future started to become uncertain in 2004 when the Six Flags company was under a tremendous amount of debt. They would start closing down and/or sold their properties like Worlds of Adventure. This put Canada Kingdom into question. They feared it would be closed or sold out. Time will tell about its fate... Thank you for reading the 2001-2004 update. Sorry for not updating in a long time. I lost the interest of the project for a while and, now I decided to finish the story off and, probably do some other projects and release this. I will make the 2005-2009 update soon this time.
  3. I am back, and the update hasn't been complete so, I would probably start again. But, Canada Kingdom's story is back on track!
  4. 1997-2000 in 1998, Premier Parks purchases Six Flags from Time Warner which brings Darien Lake, Kentucky Kingdom and other parks that Premier owned. Canada Kingdom, Kentucky Kingdom and Discovery Kingdom were bundled as the Six Flags Tri-Kingdoms due to the names. They planned with more than the just the name with the trading coasters plans, and a bundle deal. However, these plans were yet to be implemented due to the size of the park, the coasters and, the distance. The park had two roller coasters and minor changes to the park. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The entrance to the park had new coloured flags and, a neon Six Flags logo. Taken in July 1998. The long-awaited roller coaster, Superman The Ride, an flying coaster built by Vekoma from 1997-1998. Taken in August 1998. Canada Kingdom had it's first relocated coaster, Ricochet. Relocated from Discovery Adventure in Australia, the coaster was Safari, and was painted green and lime. It was closed to make away for a larger coaster. Six Flags purchased it and moved it to Canada to be repainted into Yellow, Orange and Blue. It was a massive hit when it opened in 1998. Taken in September 1999. (I misspelled ricochet in the game so, I would probably fix it later.) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Canada Kingdom was ready to march into the 21st century with a bang. The park has planned out new rides and possible removal of old attractions. Thank you for reading the 1997-2000 update. I will make the 2001-2004 update.
  5. 1993-1996 Six Flags Canada Kingdom had many things happening during the mid 1990s. They had started to work on the expansion in late 1993 and hope to complete the expansion in 1995 as they found out the construction of the new roller coasters would take longer than expected due to the size of them. However, the flying coaster they promised wasn't made and, they decided to shelf it for now. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- However, more unfortunate news happened. In June 1, 1994, the Olympic Sleds suffered an derailing as one of the front sleds went overboard from the spiral. The front car fell off, killing two people in the result and 4 more injured. (The car actually did got derailed in-game) The park thought it was the track was too fast for it. So, they closed Olympic Sleds for a renovation. One month after the incident, the Olympic Sleds reopened with a new track that removed the spiral. After that, the ride had never derailed. Taken in August 1994. However, the expansion was finished in 1995 with the DC comic theming on the coasters and two original rides. Jokercoaster and the mini-section, Joker Park opened for the 1995 season. It was the largest coaster in Canada Kingdom beating, the Ontario Cyclone. Taken in June 1995. The hyper coaster, Rolling Rocker, opened to mass praise for it's non stop thrills. The coaster had lighting effects at night to make it seem like a concert which added the charm to the coaster. Taken in June 1995. Batman & Robin: Night Flight opened in the 1995 season. The dual coaster gimmick brought in a lot of people with the an different perspective and experience. Taken in April 1996. An dark ride was made called, The Olde Canadian Trail. The ride was unique for Canada Kingdom as a dark ride. While it had aspects of Canadian culture, it had some humour, adding to the charm. Scurvy Pirates was built and, the pirate ship was an tourist attraction to the park. Taken in September 1995. The Expansion had an big lake with water fountains to make the place seem more pleasant and interesting to look at and, many empty spaces which is an possibility for more attractions. Taken in October 1996. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fun Fact: Six Flags Canada Kingdom is actually larger than it's inspiration, Kentucky Kingdom but smaller than majority of Six Flags parks. There had been rumours of an new attraction in Fort Woods and, a possible demolition of one of the rides. Many of the rumours aren't yet confirmed as Six Flags had no word on them. Thanks for reading the 1993-1996 update. Boy, it toke forever to make it that far. Next time would be the 1997-2000 Update.
  6. 1990-1992 Six Flags had plans to open more parks in Canada. They tried to bay Playland in Vancouver and, Marineland in Niagara Falls. But failed. So, they decided to build an Six Flags park in Vancouver instead. However, plans failed as there wasn't a place to build it on. Some of the planned ideas like the rides were instead built in Canada Kingdom for the 1990-1991 season. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Totem Pole open in 1990 as a drop tower. It was the first drop tower in Canada Kingdom. The Bobsled coaster, 1988 Calgary Olympics Sleds was renamed to Olympics Sleds as the games were over. Taken in June 1990. The Mind Warper was the 5th coaster in Canada Kingdom, opening in the 1991 season. It became popular for it's unique design of the boomerang coaster with it not using the cobra design. Taken in September 1991. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Six Flags had a lot of coasters in mind. They were another wooden coaster, twin B&M coasters, a flying coaster, a hyper coaster and, an unknown coaster in the future. They decided to expand the park with the empty lot just across the street. The plans were introduced the public and hoped it will be built for the 1994 season. Thank you for reading the 1990-1992 Update. The next update would be in 1993-1996. Sorry the path height markers are there. I forgot to turn them off as the game activated them.
  7. 1987-1990 Update When the 1987 season rolled in, Canada Kingdom became Six Flags Canada Kingdom. Making it, Six Flags' 10the Amusement park in it's history and, the first non-American Six Flags ever. This caused some issues with the name of Six Flags' meaning due to Canada joining into the scheme. They fixed it with a special meaning in Canada to keep the name constant. The park was bigger and, with more rides and theming. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Six Flags placed over the Canada Kingdom sign. Taken in April 1987 Eastern Coast was rethemed to Looney Tunes Town with newer rides and some moved from their original locations to be changed to Looney Tunes theming. Bee Buzzer was changed to Wile E. Coyote Desert Speeder, The swingers were changed to Pepe Le Pew Flight to Paris, Vikings Adventures closed and was replaced by Daffy Duck's Limo Ride, Sky Diver was rethemed to Tornado Taz, and the Bumper Cars were changed to Speedy Gonzales' Car Derby. The Bumper boats were removed due to unknown reasons. Taken in June 1987. Canada Kingdom's iconic coaster, Ontario Cyclone was given an facelift with a more carnival entrance along with more platforms. Taken in June 1987. Coverings were placed in and a new swinger with more seats were placed. Taken in June 1987. More coverings for Fort Woods as both Fort Victoria and Native Lands merged. Taken in July 1987. Six Flags Canada Kingdom would get it's own water park based on the Atlantic Coast of Canada. Being much bigger than Eastern Coast. Construction photos dating from October 1986-November 1986. Atlantic Coast opened to the public at the start of the 1987 season in April 15th 1987, along with Six Flags Canada Kingdom. Taken in 1987-1990. (The game didn't support slides so, I have to place an extra track to put it back up to the station.) When the 1988 Winter Olympics happened in Calgary, Six Flags built the 1988 Calgary Olympic Sleds to cash in the event. With televisions showing off the olympics bobsleds, it was a instant hit. Taken in September 1988. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Six Flags Canada Kingdom was a massive hit. Showing Six Flags future potential in the park and, possibly Canada. Some people were sadden that Canada Kingdom lost it's original touch but, majority were happy about it and were excited what they have in store for the 1990s. Thank you for reading the 1987-1990 Update. I may possibly release one coaster from the park. The update would be 1990-1992.
  8. Update: 1984-1987 Canada Kingdom was very popular park in Ontario and reminded unchanged for 2 years. However, Thomas Goodman put the park up for sale. The residents were uncertain about its future and thought the park was getting popular enough. In 1985, Six Flags purchased the park to get into the Canadian amusement park market. Despite the ownership of SF, Canada Kingdom remained it's original state with brand new rides and attractions along, with refurbishments of existing rides to make it more professional and polished. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Six Flags built the newest roller coaster in the park, Railroad Madness to fill in the empty space of Fort Victoria. It toke one year of development with many attempts but, in 1986, it opened to the Public. This image is taken the day after opening day. Lake Okanagan was closed for renovations to fix the issues of the ride and make a new track. Taken in October 1985 Granny's Driving Trip was among the few rides that got new changes with cosmetic changes. Taken in June 1985 The Twister was placed in the park in 1984 but, was made a temporary attraction. However, Six Flags made it permanent in 1985 shortly after purchasing the land. Taken in June 1985 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The park would close for the 1986 season to under go a massive changes under the Six Flags ownership. But, the park's renovations would not only changed the park but, it would expand the park with a secondary park with more of a Eastern Coast theme than the land itself. Thank you for reading the 1984-1987 update. 1987-1990 update will come in the future with a massive renovation.
  9. Good Afternoon, TPR. I had started on an amusement park timeline. The park has some custom scenery, money and, can be run on OpenRCT2 because, I am making all of this on a mac and it's very helpful. This park has been inspired off of Kentucky Kingdom for the name and similar layout and, the whole concept is inspired off of Playland Park. Enjoy! 1982-1983 (Below) 1984-1987 Page 1 1987-1990 Page 1 1990-1992 Page 1 1993-1996 Page 1 1997-2000 Page 1 2001-2004 Page 2 2005-2009 Page 2 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Canada Kingdom opened in July 1st, 1982 on Canada Day. The Amusement park uses themes to show Canadian territories, provinces, culture and, celebrating Canada as a nation. The park was constructed by Thomas Goodman, an businessman that wanted a park celebrating Canada while bringing in thrills for the country. Canada Kingdom's Gates on Opening Day, 1982 Granny's Driving Trip and Ontario Cyclone's Entrance, August 1982 Ontario Cyclone with Eastern Coast's fake lighthouse, August 1982 Midwest Town with the Maple Leaf Fountain, August 1982 Trans-Canada Highway with, Grand Arctic Adventures inside Northern Territories, September 1982 Fort Victoria's South Entrance, April 1983 Lake Okanagan boats with the Fintry Queen model, April 1983 Bee Buzzer and, Viking's Adventure at Eastern Coast, June 1983 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There would be more updates to come in 1984-1987. Thank you for reading on about Canada Kingdom on it's beginning years.
