  1. Hey Necro post a bit here, But ran across this. I was a lead for Silver Bullet for 4 years. This is pretty damn close. If you ever need any help or insight (backstage, themeing, layout) Don't hesitate to ask. The attractions I worked for/Lead Silver Bullet (My 1st Coaster as a Lead and baby) Bigfoot Rapids Xcelerator Ghostrider (Pre-Refurb, I left the company in 2011) Pony Express (Opening Lead) Timber Mountain Log Ride Calico Mine Ride Screaming Swing (ugh) Wilderness Scrambler (Yep one of the few) Supreme Scream And then of course, I still have insight on the rest of the park but those were my Certs...
  2. Hello Everyone, I am Bryan, actually a very long time lurker on TPR. A little bit about myself (Ill make an intro post in the other forum). I am an avid Coaster Enthusiast, former RO at several Theme Parks here in SoCal, go ahead and guess.... On top of that, I am also a VFX artist and huge gamer. Put all these things together and Planet Coaster is probably the best venue for me to blow off steam and just have a good time. With that said, I played PLC back in Alpha, and even streamed (Will return in the future). Recently, decided to dive back into the game for fun as I have some free time on my hands. One thing I take pride in, is my being able to take all the knowledge I have from the CGI/VFX industry and apply it here, using the indepth knowledge of Theme Park Attractions that I possess to create realistic creations. I decided to start working on a new park with the first themed area or "land" as Blackrock Canyon. Without spoiling too much here is a brief abstract" "Enter into a region forgotten by time. Discovered by explorers who sought out new adventures in the wild west, Blackrock Canyon became a hotspot for those seeking something new. However, after the founding of the Blackrock Mining Co., things began to rapidly change. Now this dried up wonder of the world which has been mysteriously abandoned for centuries, has come alive. Although, not everything is as it seems..." The centerpiece of this new land is a GCI wooden coaster that I will show off here. Designed in the likes of existing GCI greats such as Gold Striker, Prowler, and Apocalpyse.. this completely custom made GCI is meticulously designed to give the feel of racing through terrain and elements smoothly while maintaining that good ole wooden feel. Here are some of the first WIP shots! Enjoy! The Layout: ~20ish hours of work so far on this bad boy. It took me about 2 days to really nail down (pun intended) the layout. Some of the features it boasts: (1) Station Fly-Thru, (2) Station Fly-bys, (14) Cross-overs. I will detail the layout and elements a lot more in the final update for this particular attraction. Queue (Hub): So the Queue itself is broken into 3 parts, Story, Switchback, and Hub. Realistically I am probably only going to incorporate the Story and the Hub.. pictured here. Not 100 percent done on the themeing that I would desire, but this is close enough to the finished product that I can show you. And yes completely ADA compliant . Station: Also still WIP.. the loading/unloading platform in the traditional GCI fashion. DISCLAIMER: This park is being built completely from my imagination from the inspiration of my time working at KBF and Disneyland, both attractions. As well as my journeys to ride the biggest and baddest attractions out there. Entrance/Exit: Where every story begins and ends. There is alot more to show off, however I will just leave you with these. Questions, Comments and/or Critique... FIRE AWAY!
  3. First post, longtime reader/follower/stalker You get the point. I had the pleasure of working at the park for several years in ride operations. I felt I should finally lend some insight into the "What is going here?" discussion. Keep in mind, a Dive machine does look likely, and I think there is a high chance of this happening. 1. Capacity of the Dive Coaster can fit a park of Knott's magnitude. 2. Noise isn't an issue (also keep in mind, they can sand-fill to deaden the sound if need be. 3. Market Value <---- Biggest point, No Dive Machine with the "marketability of Valravan" west of the Rockies. Which Knotts/Cedar Fair LOVE to do, (Longest Tallest Fastest Wooden coaster on the west coast. Tallest Invert on the west coast. etc etc.) It is also in the back of the park, and will actually add very nicely to the skyline of the park (Watching from the near-by 91 Freeway on the way to Disneyland (5 Freeway as well). 4. Lastly, IF THEY DO build a B&M Dive Coaster here, keep in mind the goal. They do not compete with DLR, nor do they compete with Six Flags or Universal. This is an opportunity for them to draw crowds (Extended Vacations) from people who will be visiting cough::cough:: Star Wars Land and USH new attractions that are incoming. Which kind of adds to the market value of a Dive Coaster at this point. However, also to keep in mind. Traditionally the Knott family, and Cedar Fair in success, have a tendency to attempt to put something "New" in the park, i.e. Xcelerator. We could very well see a prototype here, or one of a kind. Im hoping for dive machine, but would not be the least bit surprised if a lower capacity, yet attractive Raptor/T-Rex was introduced here. As far as capital, I have seen a lot of posts claiming money to be a deciding factor. That is not how the business of the industry works. Investments are made when there is a market to tap into. They have a market to tap into which will BLOAT when Star Wars Land opens, and will move money and mountains to make more money. Trying to keep this as easy to understand as possible (I work in marketing and finance). As far as being landlocked. Knott's is actually not as limited as you may think. I believe Sky Cabin will remain in place, K remains!, and I believe whatever we see will have a layout that will encompass this tower, and new restaurant. Another option, and honestly could be occurring right now is another flat or shuttle coaster/smaller coaster/family coaster. However, I have made my argument as to why a Dive Machine or larger "West-Coast Fury" is indeed possible. Also! One last thing before I forget. Just because they are starting construction in April 2017, doesn't mean this attraction opens in SUMMER of 18. In this region, we are year round with all of our parks including psuedo-yearround SFMM. Example, Silver Bullet opened in December.
