Went to the park today to get some testing footage... unfortunately the ugly clouds decided to follow me there just like they have every time I have gone this year. There were on and off showers this afternoon, but at least it wasn’t freezing like a couple weeks ago. One of these days I'll end up at the park with a blue sky, though I'm beginning to think it might be a while.
Some of my observations from testing:
- They were only running one train today, and it sat stalled on the lift for a good portion of the afternoon.
- It's been mentioned before, but the train definitely makes a clanging sound just as it starts to pull out of the first drop. I really can't tell what is making the sound, but it didn't seem to have an effect on the speed or anything.
- Another thing you can notice in the video is the spacing between the cars. There seems to be a smaller space between the first two rows, while the there is a noticeably bigger gap between the second and third rows. You can see it from a couple different angles. I’m not sure if Sheikra is spaced like that or if all the rows are even.
- I'm also surprised they had the water splash filled this early as it's really making a mud mess in the construction area. I'm sure Busch will have it all cleaned up though.
- The station and other buildings in the area look to be coming along nicely. A lot of progress has been made since 2 weeks ago, which is a good sign everything should be ready in the near future. We'll see.
Hope you enjoy the video.
