2013 Monstrous Summer Event

Walt Disney World hosted an event this year to talk to the media about current and recent projects, a few new things coming up for the summer (it's gonna be MONSTROUS!), and to give us a sneak peek into some future projects. Here's how the event unfolded...

We checked into Grand Floridian. Neither one of us have stayed at this hotel in about 20 years, so it was awesome to be back!

Here is the view from our room. Fantastic!

The lobby of the hotel. It is "grand!"

Enough, about the hotel, let's check out something I'm sure you're all very interested in over at the Magic Kingdom!

That's right! Disney is adding a new roller coaster to Magic Kingdom! The "Seven Dwarfs Mine Train! And this one is a "one-of-a-kind!"

Walt Disney Imagineer, Ralph, talks to us about the new ride, and is going to give us a "behind the walls" tour!

First thing you all must know is what makes this a "one-of-a-kind" roller coaster... the cars will actually freely "rock" or "swing" back and forth as you travel through the ride...

While it is a "roller coaster", it will be about 50% Dark Ride/ 50% Roller Coaster.

Since this ride will essentially be "replacing" the old Snow White attraction, it was important to bring some of those "dark ride" aspects to this new attraction.

POV SHOT!!! =)

You can see there is going to be a lot of "indoor" sections to this ride.

Loving all the fun, swooping track!

Work has really progressed on the exterior of the building. I'm sure within the coming weeks we'll see quite of bit of this start to look "complete."

TWISTY!!! I would expect a fair amount of car swinging in this section!

Another shot of the new "mountain" at Magic Kingdom!

Looks to be a nice little drop on this coaster, too! Check out this construction tour video for a better look!

Next up, we got some information about Princess Fairytale Hall, which is located in the old Snow White Scary Adventures building.

This will be transformed into one of the most elaborate character meet & greets ever!

This is one attraction our six year old daughter is really looking forward to! (She loves the princesses!)
