Movie World is one of a solid string of theme parks on the Gold Coast and is probably the best when it comes to overall theming (a sort of mini-Universal, like its cousin park in Germany). It also has the two best coasters in Australia, both of which feature well-done dark-ride sections: Superman Escape and Scooby-Doo Spooky Coaster. Where the park falls down a bit is a lack of attractions that families can do together (most of the rides for kids are grouped in one Looney Tunes-themed area). It could also use one or two more big attractions to make it more of a full-day park. Still, Movie World is a lot of fun and definitely worth visiting.
Movie World could use another big attraction or two to put it over the top, but as it stands this is a solid park with good theming and Australia's two best coasters: Superman Escape and Scooby-Doo's Spooky Coaster. (Both these coasters have well-done dark-ride sections.) Wild West Falls is a good, heavily themed flume ride (could use a little TLC, though), and the Batman simulator is fun (but note that its preshow also has a preshow--you'll be there awhile). The stunt-car show is a pleasant surprise; although it comes across as a knockoff of the show at Disney's studio parks, it's better paced and quite entertaining. It's definitely worth taking time off from the beach to visit Movie World.
Although lacking a little with sheer number of coasters, the ones Movie World has make up for it! An excellent themed Intamin accelerator and a perfectly themed Wild Mouse! What more could you ask for? An SLC with a bonus helix! With great theming as far as SLC's go. Great park, with great staff, and a good mix of coasters :)
Wow, what a nice little park. It has shows, flats, and coasters...AWESOME coasters. And not to mention the log flume that's just as good as Splash Mountain! Scooby Doo's spooky coaster will be a HUGE surprise for those who have never ridden it before; quite the long ride, with a pretty much pre coaster and post coaster ride. Tons of surprises. Also, they have the Intamin Rocket coaster!
