The location on Lake Shafer, with many rides built on piers over the lake, makes for a great setting, and the wind enhances many of the flats. On top of that, Indiana Beach runs many of their flats (such as the Falling Star) on a long and intense cycle. Cornball Express is one of the best wooden coasters (although operations are a little quirky), providing a great ride for a coaster that tops out at 55 feet. Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain (LoCoSuMo) is a unique wooden coaster--try to ride early as capacity is very low. The park added Steel Hawg, its first modern steel coaster, in 2008.
Frankenstein's Castle is a slight upcharge, but this haunted walkthrough should not be missed. While in the castle be sure to get a closer look at the monster band. |
| Food |
| The most popular food at Indiana Beach are the tacos. The Skyroom offers a very popular Sunday brunch. |
| Operating Season |

Situated on the edge of Lake Shafer, Indiana Beach packs a lot of powerful rides into a compact space. Although many of the rides may appear to be standard fare, they are run at optimal speeds, at long cycles, with the wind coming off the lake adding further excitement. A trip on the sky ride truly displays the compactness of the park.
Many of the rides have fairly low height restrictions compared to some corporate parks so there is a lot that families can ride together.
Don't be fooled by the smaller size of roller coasters such as Cornball Express as Steel Hawg. These rides really pack in some great thrills! | |

This park has proved that a small park packed with fun old style rides everywhere you look. Might just be the best time you've had in a while.
Cornball is where it's at really, the ride works its way around its area of the park, going around and even through the structure of existing rides. It is small but packs a punch, great air is everywhere.
The food is also great, and they got Schwarzkopf.
Even though the park is a tad run down and dirty. It just sort of add's to the whole boardwalk and classic atmosphere of the park. It really is unique.
As others may have said, the park has been struggling in the last few years to hold it together. Wishing the park the best of luck for the future.

Indiana Beach has some positive and some negatives. Positive- Cornball Express, Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain, and Frankenstein's Castle. Negative- on my trip the park was dirty, operations were terrible, and it was crowded beyond belief. A lot of people have reported a decline in quality over the years, and I certainly witnessed it, but it is still a unique park with a lot of charm and is worth a visit.

There are two excellent reasons for visiting Indiana Beach: Cornball Express (an excellent wooden coaster) and Frankenstein's Castle (a great, cheesy walkthrough attraction). Although this traditional park is down a notch from an operation like Knobels, Indiana Beach offers plenty of oldtime, fun rides to please all age groups--along with "funky" atmosphere and food. Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain, one of the weirdest rides ever, is also not to be missed--and there's always the Fascinaton parlor if you need someplace to cool off.

Indiana Beach is definitely not your average amusement park! I had a lot of fun there and it's worth the trip through nothing but cornfields. All of the coasters there are noteworthy.

I really like this place. To the naked eye it looks like a run down carnival. If you love amusement parks it is a very unique place. It's a very compact park with some great rides for them being crammed into a small space.
Cornball Express and Steel Hawg are a lot of fun, and Superstition Mountain are all a lot of fun. I love the flats, and the car ride is one of my favorites I've been on. I really enjoy just being in this park.
Also play fascination. Or else.

Off the beaten path and seldom talked about, Indiana Beach features lots of really cool traditional amusement park rides built out over the lake that surrounds the park and/or piled on top of one another. Operations are "Oh My God" carny-ish, and I can't even imagine how someone in a wheelchair could navigate the place, but if you like a little bit of "funk" in your amusement parks, then Indiana Beach is a must-visit. In fact, I usually budget two days for it.

Indiana Beach is a park that isn't mentioned very often. The ride selection may be small, but the atmosphere and location make up for it. The park is located right on Lake Shafer, creating a boardwalk atmosphere that is typically only found on the East or West Coast. The standout ride is Cornball Express, which offers a ton of ejector airtime in the front seat! While certainly not a destination park by any means, a great way to spend the day if you live in the area. Great traditional park.

Indiana Beach offers a beautiful setting on the shores of Lake Schaffer. It has a very 'traditional' feel that is becoming more difficult to find. The flats here all run above average cycles and Cornball Express is a great wooden coaster. While the park has been beginning to look a tad run down the past few seasons, management has stated they are making an effort to update the park this off season.
Don't Miss:
-Cornball Express
-Steel Hawg
-Water Swings
-The Taco Shoppe
-Fascination

There is a lot to do in this small area! The rides are fun, and there are a few unique rides. The food was pretty good, and with options like elephant ears, fried oreo's, pronto pups, and walking tacos, they had a great variety. Operations could use a lot of work, but we still had a great time.
*Of course the best part of this park is the Fascination Game!

This tiny park (takes about 5 minutes to walk from end to end) is so full of rides that you can spend all day there and still not hit everything. Located along the lake, you can always see the beautiful shimmering water and fun jet-skis. The park provides free ski show several times a day which includes high-dive acts (while on fire!).
The coasters are all pretty good - nothing super amazing, but their locations, layouts and general atmosphere of the park more than make up for it. Lost Coaster is definitely an experience, Cornball can deliver wonderful air, and Hurricane provides spectacular views of the park and the lake. The flat rides (there are a lot of them) are all run well, with good speed and long cycles.
Unfortunately operations hasn't been great the last few years, but it's still absolutely worth a visit. The park issued a press-release in winter 2010-2011 announcing major rehab work being undertaken all along the boardwalk, so the 2011 season has the potential to be terrific.
