Mitsui Greenland offers something for just about everybody on one big piece of sprawling, sun-baked real estate (shade is nonexistent). This might be Japan's best "traditional" park, with nine coasters (including an excellent stand-up model); a few walkthroughs (the "Haunted Hospital" stands out here); three dark rides (including the strangest "simulator" anywhere); an alpine slide; and some welcome water rides. Be sure not to miss the "chair lift of death"--something you'd never see in an American park.
Although it deosn't have any outstanding coasters, Mitsui Greenland is an excellent traditional amusement park with a mix of eccentric stuff, such as two very good dark rides (and one very odd one) and some fun walkthrough haunted houses--Beware the wrath of the haunted toilet! There's no shade, which means the park is hot as a furnace during the summer (thank god for the air-conditioned McDonald's onsite). But you have to love a park that offers an archery range, a game involving machine guns, an alpine slide, and the infamous "Chairlift of Death."
Big park, lots of fun games and attractions. Ticket includes some free games!
Can get very hot during the summer months with little shade available.
