The main draw to Deno's Wonder Wheel Park, is the Wonder Wheel iteself. For it's age and what it does, it's pretty cool, but I'm not a fan of ferris wheels, and the whole swinging seat thing was not up my alley. The park also has a kiddie coaster called the Sea Serpent for the youngsters (or a bunch of adult coaster credit getters). This was a cute little coaster that had the option of getting your picture from the ride. Lastly, Deno's also hosts Spook-a-rama, an interesting dark ride to say the least. You just have to ride it to experience it.
Believe it or not, the Wonder Wheel isn't all the great, you are lucky if you get one full spin without stopping on the wheel. If maybe it spun around a feew more times without stopping it would be more enjoyable. But its not all about the wheel, they have a creepy awesome dark ride that's a must!
This "park" consists of about 5 rides. The flats are generic. I can't comment of Spook-a-rama. The Wonder Wheel is basically the entire park as far as I'm concerned. It's definitely an experience, but I didn't find it to be very frightening, or too exciting- just a ferris wheel car that moved on a track twice.
Go ahead and ride it to decide for yourself (and because everyone will ask if you did), but go to Luna Park for flats.
Deno's runs Coney Island's landmark Wonder Wheel, which you MUST ride, and be sure to take a rocking car; not only is it fun for its own sake, but you will Fear For Your Life that the ageing steel will snap and send you plunging to you death. The Spook-a-Rama is the the best bad dark ride you will ever ride (it helps to set your expectations really low). Everything else here is a portable flat ride. Dubious safety standards and job-hating ride ops add to the fear factor....and the fun!
