Coney Island has quite a history. At one time it was one of the largest amusement parks in the country. However, being on the banks of the Ohio River caused frequent flooding problems. In the late 1960s an agreement was made to relocate the park to what is now Kings Island. Coney Island survived as a swimming pool until the early 1990s when new owners brought back traditional rides. Coney Island now serves as a family-friendly small park with a dozen or so flat rides and a roller coaster. The park is affordable and has a very relaxing feel. There is sufficient shade in the park along with the more popular adjoining pool/waterpark.
The coaster here is not much to write home about, but they do have a nice collection of flats including the Rock-o-plane. There needs to be more of these out there! Very laid back atmosphere and an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon.
