Another Scandinavian park within a major city, Linnanmaki sits atop a small hill with space carved out of the hill for quite a few rides.
The coasters are fun but not the type that thrillseekers are going to salivate over. What makes this park stand out are the number of unique attractions in the form of coasters, dark rides, and walkthroughs.
One disappointing aspect for families is that there are very conservative height requirements for children on many rides and not much for families with young children to enjoy together.
Linnanmäki has some pretty nice coasters such as nostalgic Vuoristorata, Insane's little brother Kirnu and the new coaster Ukko, which packs quite a punch. Flat rides range from over 100 years old Karuselli and classic Enterprise to nut-cracking Kieputin and absolutely insane Kieppi. Food is ok, but the best part in this park is it's atmosphere, which is always a plus in my book.
The description above hits the spot: Linnanmäki can't really show off with large coasters, but the park has a very nice atmosphere! The star attractions of Linnanmäki are ZacSpin Kirnu, HUSS Booster Kieppi, fun house Vekkula, ye olde scenic railway Vuoristorata with it's brakemen (and women) and Maurer Söhne SkyLoop Ukko (opens 2011).
