Ravine Flyer II is the biggest reason to visit the park. The long awaited wooden coaster from Gravity Group flows from the top of the lift hill down the ravine to the bluffs below. The power of the ride doesn't let up until the train hits the final brake run. Steel Dragon is a solid Maurer Sohne spinning coaster.
Whacky Shack and Pirates Cove are two Bill Tracy creations that are so rare in these times.
The park also has a selection of traditional flat rides. Ali Baba (Flying Carpet) and X-Scream (Drop Tower) are the most thrilling of the flats. |
| Food |
| Snacks and desserts are some of the better food options at Waldameer. The prices are fair and variety is limited. Another option at Waldameer is to bring your own food. The park even provide free grills if you bring the charcoal. The parking lot very close to the BBQ area. |
| Operating Season |
The park is open on weekends in May. From June to Labor the park is open day, except Mondays. The park is not open on Mondays, except Holidays.

Waldameer is one of a vanishing breed of small, family-owned parks catering to locals. For years the owners fought to build the Ravine Flyer II wooden coaster, which finally came to fruition in 2008.
Most of the rides are the kind that families can ride together, including a few Bill Tracey creations. The park may not have an abundance of attractions, but it's well shaded and priced reasonably with a friendly staff. | |

Probably the best small park

Waldameer is an outstanding park, and even though it isn't that large it will provide at least a half day of enjoyment. The park is home to Ravine Flyer II, one of the best wooden coasters in the world, and several old-scool rides, including Whacky Shack and Pirates Cove. The park also has a selection of newer flats as well, and although it doesn't have anything too extreme the park has a good variety for all members of the family. The waterpark is also the best I've been to that lacks modern slides. Overall, this place is a great day out for the family and is very reasonably priced for what they offer. Other than the cashless system being used for games, I have no complaints about the park.

A Truly Great Small Park!

Waldameer is a hidden gem of a small park located along the shores of Lake Erie in PA. I wasn't sure what to expect when I visited to ride the new Ravine Flyer II, but suffice to say I was pleasantly surprised and very impressed. The park looks very nice, in an old-fashioned and simplistic way. Crews are good, and for a smaller place the food is decent. The ride collection is smaller, but has many favorites and some surprises. Two great dark rides are a rare find, and they have a sweet drop tower. Their 3 adult coasters are perfect for this place. Comet is a blast of a junior woodie nestled in the trees, Steel Dragon is a very good spinner, and Ravine Flyer II is an outstanding world-class wooden coaster. Don't miss it when in Erie!

I had made it my ambition for quite some time to ride the Ravine Flyer II. II live in PA, so I knew I would make it out to the park eventually. I entered the park at 3 in the afternoon and had exploited all major rides that I wanted to ride in 4 hours. The coaster collection is alright, but the Ravine Flyer II really helps the park out.
My only real complaint is the ride operations. To sum up my situation, I rode RF II 5 times before 5 o'clock. I went back on a bit later and wiated 45 minutes because the operators refused to load both trains, stating, "We like for our best ride to have a line." It would be one thing if they took a train off the track, but to keep it on but not load it?
The park is a nice place either way!

Waldameer park is a great small park located in the middle of Pennsylvania. They have a good amount of shade and good food. The Ravine Flyler 2 is a fantastic ride experience that takes you "90 degrees"! The small and compact but fun Steel dragon is also a great ride. Definetly a great, small, and fun little park.

Waldameer is a great small park that is a perfect way to spend an afternoon. Ravine Flyer II is the park's main attraction, and it really is a fantastic wooden coaster: it has intensity, airtime, and quick changes in direction. Aside from Ravine Flyer II, the park has a nice assortment of smaller rides and coasters. The park staff is really friendly too. I had a great time on my last visit, and I will definitely go back if I'm in the area

The Ravine flyers (yes 2 and 3) both pack a punch. All the other rides are really fun. the best way to go on steel dragon is with four people. Comet is worth a stop too.

From Peninsula Drive it may not seem like Waldameer offers much but it in fact has a lot to offer if you're looking to kill a few hours. Ravine Flyer II is obviously the stand out attraction and it rightfully is the best wooden coaster in the entire region. If you visit towards the evening be sure to try a night ride on this beast - it's awesome!
The park has seen quite a few new rides the past few years, including three new flat rides for 2011 that expand the park with a new North End midway between the Ferris Wheel and Ravine Flyer II lift hill.
The water park seems decent for its size but is extra charge.

Ravine Flyer II was the enticement for me to visit, and it was completely worth it! RFII is an amazing coaster, while the others are mediocre. Wacky Shack and Pirate's Cove are two great dark rides that also make the visit worth it. There is a high amount of trees in the park, so shade is very common. Food prices are a bit steeper compared to other parks of the same size, but not too bad. It's a nice park overall and is definitely worth at least one visit.
